Remember When Biden Promised $2,000, not $1,400, Stimulus Checks?

Remember When Biden Promised $2,000, not $1,400, Stimulus Checks?

Biden promised $2,000 stimulus checks only three weeks ago. Not $1400 in addition to the $600.

https://youtu.be/8gx0rFsgaAs

It’s weird how reality changes when the media’s favorite presidential candidate takes office.

The Democrats and media “forget” that the $600 checks were approved under President Donald Trump’s administration. They “forget” that President Joe Biden promised $2,000 checks on the campaign trail.

But since $1400 + $600 = $2000 the leftists are willing to “forget” that little detail.

He said:

The second, the American rescue plan is going to keep the commitment of the $2,000. $600 has already gone out, $1400 checks to people who need it. This is money directly into their pockets.

We need to target that money so folks making $300,000 don’t get any windfall. Here’s what I won’t do. I’m not cutting the size of the checks. They’re going to get $1,400. period. That’s what the American people were promised.

No. YOU LIE.

Three weeks ago, three weeks ago, Biden said his stimulus plan included $2,000 checks.

He says: “We will finish the job of getting a total of $2000 in cash relief to people who need it the most. The $600 already appropriated is simply not enough.”

Three weeks ago President Joe Biden bashed the $600. Now he’s saying that he already considered it as part of his stimulus plan?

How about on January 4?

Biden said (emphasis mine):

By electing John and the Reverend, you can make an immediate difference in your own lives, the lives of people all across this country, because their election will put an end to the block in Washington of that $2,000 stimulus check, that money that will go out the door immediately to help people who are in real trouble. Think about [? what it ?] will mean, to your lives, putting food on the table, paying rent, paying your mortgage, paying down the credit card, paying the phone bill, the gas bill, the electric bill.

And the debate over $2,000 isn’t some abstract debate in Washington. It’s about real lives, your lives, the lives of good, hardworking Americans. And if you’re like millions of Americans all across this country, you need the money, you need the help, and you need it now. Look, Georgia, there’s no one in America with more power to make that happen than you, the citizens of Atlanta, the citizens of Georgia.

[CHEERING]

And that’s not an exaggeration. That is a literal– that’s literally true. If you send John and the Reverend to Washington, those $2,000 checks will go out the door, restoring hope and decency and honor for so many people who are struggling right now. And if you send senators Perdue and Loeffler back to Washington, those checks will never get there. It’s just that simple. The power is literally in your hands.

Newsweek on December 30, 2020:

President-elect Joe Biden, who has promised to deliver more economic relief to Americans in the early days of his administration, has endorsed sending $2,000 stimulus checks to qualifying individuals and households.

The president-elect said he supported $2,000 instead of $600 payments following a speech he gave Monday about the national security and foreign policy challenges his administration will face. As he walked off the stage, Biden was asked by a reporter if he supported the larger check amount and replied “yes.”

In NewSpeak, failure to increase a social program budget by 10% is cutting it by 10%.

New headline: Biden takes $600 from every American.

Remember when we had checks and balances in government?

Can’t we just admit he’s the liar in chief?

Whatever, dirtbag.

“Biden promised $2,000 stimulus checks only three weeks ago. Not $1400 in addition to the $600.”

Because it’s not like people can take back their votes now.

“I have altered the deal. Pray I do not alter it any further.”

Two of my friends haven’t even received the $600 checks. Husband and I received a check for a reduced amount (based on 2020 income?), but we did get it right away.

Unfortunately, with progress, it has liberalized, and is not limited to refundable credits and public smoothing functions (e.g. welfare).

Meanwhile, the virus and opportunistic antigens (a la HIV/AIDS) find safe havens with restrictive mandates (e.g. masks, shelter in place) and the disease progresses at the Twilight Fringe, where early, effective, inexpensive, low-risk treatments are denied and stigmatized, and Planned Parent/hood is a matter of social policy.

Actually even worse since the $1400 is based on a lower income than the $600. So some who would have gotten $2000 from Trump may get nothing from Biden. That’s gonna go well.

What about that $600.00?

Nobody I know has received it…

“The Big Guy” has to get his cut.

The Left – Bernie Sanders et al. – see this as only a down payment. God help us!

Hate to point it out but he has been entirely consistent even the articles own quote supports his position.

“We will finish the job of getting a *total* of $2000 in cash relief”

Note the word total.

I’m not sure what people here are complaining about its $1400 dollars more than GOP were willing to give out.

Sorry this article is hyperbolic nonsense.

Ah, yes, our latest resident leftie loon troll weighs in to explain what Biden really meant when he was doddering around Georgia promising the immediate release, upon winning both GA Sen seats, of $2k checks (without a “total” in sight).

Here’s lying liar Corrupt Creepy China Joe telling lies:

“If you send Jon and the Reverend to Washington, those $2,000 checks will go out the door, restoring hope and decency and honor for so many people who are struggling right now,” Mr. Biden said.

Hmm, so by “those $2,000 checks,” he really meant . . . erm. Spin, little mark311, spin.

Rubbish his policy platform has always been $2000 as a paycheck. That’s been a consistent line for ages. What you are really saying is you think he should have given away $2600 which isn’t what he has ever said. It’s also not clear to me when the $600 cheques would be sent. So what you are wrangling over is the use of the word ‘total’. You claim he is being dishonest when you yourself are being guilty of that.

Then why didn’t he modify it when he was promising $2,000 at the Georgia run-off and the $600 was already out there. Keep defending the liest that Biden tells. He needs all the support he can get as the Democrats go after him. It is time to replace the placeholder.

Perhaps he mispoke? But that’s not really even the point his line for ages has been $2000 so it seems like a reach to claim he really ment $2600.

This is a logical fallacy. He said $2k, he did not include in that the $600 that had already gone out under Trump; the Biden team (including the Democrat activist media) is now saying they “meant” $1400 on top of the $600. That’s just typical political spin.

What you are doing here is even more flagrantly intellectually dishonest: adding the repeatedly promised without qualification $2k to the previously released $600 is ridiculous on its face, but you’ve said it a couple times now without pushback (probably because it’s such sloppy thinking that LI readers just rolled their eyes and moved on).

Look, I have been known to love a good troll. Good trolls, to my mind, are intelligent, capable of constructing arguments devoid of logical fallacy, and make me think. You have none of these qualities. All you do is spout Democrat talking points and try to ingratiate yourself with our long-time readers (who have your number, make no mistake). Surely there is some other site into which you would like to sink hours of your time (I hope you’re getting paid for this because you are devoting a LOT of time spitting nonsensical nonsense into the learned LI readership wind).

I have to say Fuzzy I wonder what your politics are? The Republican position was always $600 because that’s how they lean giving the bare minimum of support, you sound like you’d prefer people to get a significantly more generous offer?

Biden Lied, People Cried! Miss Trump yet?

What recourse do the disappointed voters have? Complain to their Congressional representative? Lots of luck with that. Speak with your vote in 2022? As if that election will be any more honest then the 2020 vote.

This is what dictatorship looks like. Get used to it.

Justice for Ashli Babbitt!

What does Joe care if he keeps this promise?! He can give out only $50 and the media wouldn’t challenge him. Heck, he probably could send a $2000 check to billionaires and people overseas and nothing for American citizens, and the media would cover for him. This isn’t rhetoric or hyperbole, this is literally what the media is doing for Biden… covering up everything that is negative… from his shady dealings to his son’s corruption.

Democrats are saving the big money to bail out union and state pension funds. Meanwhile they will limit their payments of $1,400 to only those who make $50,000 a year or less. Republicans made them promise not to give the money to illegals. You know what a promise means to a Democrat.

The “president’s” recent statements regarding the minimal “$2,000 total” payment to all eligible recipients is classic doubletalk — designed, of course, to bait votes, then be switched, once “elected”.

The comment above re the operative word being “total” as the focal point seems right, I agree. The “president’s” effective amphiboly covers the hidden, seemingly final intent to pass muster here; the $1,400 pledge is one of two in the differential, despite his soundings at the podia. An on-point (and pro-Biden, intentionally suppressed) question from a member of a free (rather than an unfree) press, on scene, would have been nice, no? “Two thousand dollars” thus stands as a flexible term.

And so, in classic liberal-lefty, ie, shifty form, the case can be made, with acceptance: Biden never lied, he’s keeping his promise to the American people: $600 + $1,400 = $2,000.

Decency, honesty, accountability, communication integrity — transparency? Forget it, they got (all) the votes needed. Get outta here now, they’re sayin’, beat it.

This is what “unity” looks like under Biden. I ask, what should we expect from an old, two-faced, double-talking, lying crook — what he maybe says he’ll do, or what he’s always done (lie, cheat, steal)?

Relatively decent people just don’t strive to speak/promise/pledge/campaign this way. They don’t aim to f**k people over because they can. They avoid the doubletalk because committing the sin is neither smart nor right. That takes ethical, even moral responsibility, discipline — increasingly scarce and rapidly disappearing attributes found in our politicians these days.

Except that Biden is considerably more honest than Trump ever was so it’s an upgrade surely

Biden has been a Democrat politician for 47 years; he is a lying liar who tells lies and has been telling some whoppers for nearly half a century. The Democrat’s media activist arm doesn’t report on it, but Biden is a well-known liar and has always been one. He’s also a well-known plagiarist (that’s a fancy term for liar and thief).

Here are just a handful of examples from across the political spectrum:
      https://www.israel365news.com/159044/fact-checking-bidens-almost-non-stop-lies-from-the-debate/
      https://jacobinmag.com/2021/01/joe-biden-misinformation-political-lies-journalism
      https://710wor.iheart.com/featured/mark-simone/content/2020-08-27-the-very-long-list-of-the-many-times-joe-bidens-been-caught-in-major-lies/
      https://thehayride.com/2020/10/joe-biden-told-32-lies-in-96-minutes-last-night-here-they-are/

Biden is such a liar that he actually (if accidentally) coined the Orwellian lunacy of “truth over facts.”

Biden is not an “upgrade” on Trump; Biden is an anti-American, anti-capitalist doddering child-sniffing leftist hack who puts America LAST.

For all his personality failings and my strong early repugnance at the very thought of a Trump presidency (I was NeverTrump until he won the nomination, as our long-time readers know), Trump turned out to be an awesome president. I never doubted that he loved America, and though I voted for him AGAINST Hillary in ’16, I was proud, happy, and eager to vote FOR Trump in ’20. And I would do so again in a heartbeat in 2024 (though I doubt he would run again).

Did he lie, fib, stretch the truth, boast? Yep. All the freaking time, but his “lies” were not self-aggrandizing (Biden was SHOT AT . . . and he, in truth if not in fact, fired the shot heard ’round the world and led the storming of the beaches in Normandy) or empty promises made to win an election (Trump fulfilled or worked to fulfill every single one of his campaign promises; Biden has already reneged on several, including the fracking ban that threw thousands of people out of work at the stroke of Biden’s pen with no new prospects, in Biden’s own plan, for TEN years).

Biden is a well-known corrupt DC insider who will say anything, take any position, if it helps him politically. EVERYONE knows this because he’s been doing it for half a freaking century. On the record.

There are plenty of reasons for the left to like and support Biden; his honesty is absolutely not one of them.
