Oops – Biden Census Executive Order On Counting Illegal Aliens May Hand Texas GOP Multiple House Seats

“Biden’s new policy isn’t just a gift for Texas. It’s a gift especially for Texas Republicans”

Among the flurry of job-destroying, economy-wrecking Executive Orders Joe Biden signed in his first few days in office was one ordering that illegal aliens be counted in the 2020 census.  This is a reversal of President Trump’s order.

It looks like there might be a silver lining here, however.  Adding illegals back into the census will likely result in Texas gaining seats in the U.S. House.

Texas was one of the many states whose legislatures Democrats expected to gain in the 2020 election.  Their anticipated “blue wave” didn’t happen; instead, Republicans made significant gains at the state level, granting them a significant advantage in redistricting.

The Dallas Morning News reports:

Hours after taking office, President Joe Biden handed Texas a huge gift that went mostly unnoticed, overshadowed by more controversial moves on climate, public health and the border wall.

He reversed Donald Trump’s policy of excluding unauthorized immigrants from the census count used to carve up the country into congressional districts.

Texas has almost 2 million such residents out of nearly 30 million — enough extra people to bring billions in federal largesse over the next decade, and add considerably to its clout in the U.S. House.

“Don’t get me wrong, I support President Trump and I appreciate what he was trying to do, but this is good for Texas,” said state Rep. Phil King, a Weatherford Republican who chaired the redistricting committee the last two years. “It probably means the difference between getting one and three new congressional seats.”

Lloyd Potter, Texas’ state demographer, took it a step further.

Biden’s new policy isn’t just a gift for Texas. It’s a gift especially for Texas Republicans, since they control the Legislature and Governor’s Mansion and wield the knife that cuts the growing pie.

Man, the left just can’t grasp that “unintended consequences” thing.

An expert at Piss Poor Prior Planning with very little aforethought, Biden will be remembered as the Oopsy Daisy president.

At least Gerry Ford’s kids will be happy about that.

Dems in general are piss poor planners and such, but overall it this helps them keep California seats and some others become in play for them next 2 years. A few flippable seats in some areas around Austin to Las Vegas will hurt in the long run.

What’s the over/under that this was the EO that Biden didn’t understand but went ahead and signed anyway?

Diverso, ma uguale?! | January 24, 2021 at 9:36 pm

and the other states?

damn, in 4 years we are going to have to figure out a way of getting rid of them.

Though the overall impact is the same, the article leaves out the intermediate facts.

Likely the decision help CA more than TX but in that case, counting will permit CA to keep blue seats.

The actual impact of the TX gain should be considered in the fact that the North East will likely be the location of the loss for those 1-3 seats, meaning blue turf.

So potentially that is 3 new GOP and 3 less Dem seats.

Isn’t it fun, Joe. Your people have studied 248 of Trump’s orders and laws and hand you a nice blue folder to just sign and sign…

Truthfully, he’s not much different than obama, who used to be given papers to sign with checkboxes (“yes”, “no” – that kind of thing) by his handlers, instead of having text to read or write.

Obama was as dumb as biden – probably more so. Biden is just losing his faculties. Obama never really had any.

Wouldn’t it be awesome if they all voted Republican?
Lawd have mercy, that wall would be up in two months!

Who’s “they”? Aliens are represented in congress, because the constitution says so, but they don’t vote. Their presence in a state just means that legitimate voters in that state get an outsized say, just as voters in slave states used to get a boost in the value of their votes by counting 3/5 of the slaves, or the way voters who live near prisons get a huge boost in the value of their votes by counting all the prisoners as non-voting local residents.

A question being raised is whether he is signing blank EOs to be filled in as needed. Got to have him sign when his signature looks sort of normal.. in that short time before the meds wear off.

Two years is a long time, especially at the rate we’re falling into the fascist abyss.

Besides: does anyone really believe elections in 2 years will actually survive the insanity of our tolerating “voting software”??

Given the judiciary’s hostility to election fraud claims, the Democrats don’t need help from Dominion. Ordinary ballot stuffing will do, as we saw nationally in the Nov 3 election. Copious evidence of ballot stuffing and ballot counting irregularities were swept under the rug.

“Legalizing” illegal aliens en mass will have the opposite effect the democrats want. Once ‘legal,” with skin in the game, these new “Americans” will recoil in horror when shown massive new caravans trotting up from the south. They will quickly realize THEY will now be among the taxpayers funding massive amounts of new illegals. Their healthcare will become more expensive and worse. The democrats current trajectory is unsustainable. I think PDJT has already (figuratively) killed the democrats, they just don’t know they’re dead yet. Also, if the Senate hold an impeachment trial, we are going to see some unbelievable things. It’s no accident PDJT referenced the phrase “Be careful what you wish for.” not long ago.

Only it they’re working on the books, at legal jobs.

They will quickly realize THEY will now be among the taxpayers funding massive amounts of new illegals.

Why would you believe that? I see no evidence of that among legal Mexican voters, they are quite happy to vote for the party that will let them take over the Southwest. They don’t like the Central American illegals piggybacking, but that’s a small price to pay for keeping the invasion going against the gringo. Mexicans don’t like blacks either, so the destructive effect of Mexican immigration on black employment is a bonus.

Milhouse in reply to CKYoung. | January 25, 2021 at 11:21 am

Nobody’s being “legalized” yet. They’re just being counted in the census, as they have always been, and as the constitution requires. Which means their neighbors’ votes have more weight.

Everyone of the formerly known as illegals will also be getting the next round of government cash handed out.

My mind’s eye sees Governor LePetomaine being handed papers to sign by Hedly LaMar.

Bonus? Trump’s successful work toward lowering black unemployment was a magnificent step for America.

Maybe Texas will attempt to base it’s Congressional Seats on Citizen population instead of overall population. That would shift some more power to rural areas or at least away from urban centers.

That would result in more r districts and the progressive tears would be sweet. Of course, this would be litigated but the 5th Circuit is pretty set, for now, as friendly to the idea as opposed to reflexively opposed.

Remember–the courts will have the final say on the new districts. Don’t get too excited yet.

I realize that people are desperate for “good” news, but this means nothing.

It doesn’t matter how many representatives have in Congress. It all depends upon how the state is districted for representation. Texas can end up with any number of additional representatives, but if redistricting places those reps in majority liberal districts, controlled by Democrats, the Republicans lose. And do not think for one minute that the Dems are not going to push for exactly that and the feds are going to back them up.

We now have Gerrymandered districts designed to elect Black minority Reps all across America. There will be a push to do the same for left-leaning Hispanic voters and other “minorities”.

According to the people I know there are no republicans left in Texas. At least not on the federal level. Hear that Big John you rino bastard.
