You can just imagine how this played out. Someone thought it was a good idea until an outraged leftist found out about it.

The College Fix reports:

Sorority deletes tweet congratulating Amy Coney Barrett for Supreme Court nomination

Kappa Delta’s national organization has issued an apology for congratulating Judge Amy Coney Barrett, a member of the sorority at Rhodes College, for her nomination to the Supreme Court.

The sorority tweeted on September 28 a congratulations to Barrett, several days after President Donald Trump officially nominated her to fill a vacant Supreme Court seat.

The tweet read: “KD alumna Amy Coney Barrett was nominated to serve on the Supreme Court. While we do not take a stand on political appointments, we recognize Judge Coney Barrett’s significant accomplishment. We acknowledge our members have a variety of views and a right to their own beliefs.”

The tweet has since been deleted. Kappa Delta released an apology the next day, apologizing to people offended by the post and people offended by its removal.

“Our approach was disappointing and hurtful to many,” the sorority wrote in a graphic.

“We did not intend to enter a political debate, take a stand on the Supreme Court nomination, cause division among our sisters, or alienate any of our members,” it said.

The sorority then praised itself for beginning earlier this year “an intentional journey for the betterment of our organization.” It thanked people for “holding us accountable.”

Followers chimed in, thanking or criticizing the sorority.

“I am embarrassed she is in any way associated with our sisterhood,” wrote feminist author Amy Siskind. “She does not stand for our values, and that goes well beyond a half century old decision. But [sic[ I appreciate national addressing the hurt this has caused.”

Kappa Delta: Our Mission
Kappa Delta Sorority is a national organization for women committed to: encouraging members to live with integrity and honor in the bonds of lifelong friendship; ……… HA

(Unless you are a conservative, non-progressive piece of “deplorable” scum, of course)

What a brave example of true sisterhood.

Sororities: a place for nasty meamn girls to be nasty, mean, AND snobby.

Fraternities: a place to drink yourself to the point you are varfing yor guts out, live like slobs, and look down on those who are not members of frats. Also, dependent on the frat, it is a safe place for the scions of Good Families to live among the scions of other Good Families, and be safe from those people.

Definitions:
Good Families: Money, preferrably Old Money; go back at least 10 generations; no one in the family has ever gotten dirt under their fingernails; New England; Protestant, and the right denominations.

Those People: Jews, anyone with a surname ending in a vowel, tans without burning.

Looks like Kappa Delta now has a self-appointed political officer.

I miss the good old days when these types would resign in disgust to never be heard from again.

I love how the leftist protesting assumes that she speaks for the whole sorority: “our sisterhood,”our values.” Because she just knows that no one in her right mind could ever agree with Judge Barrett about anything.

Until people stop letting others all puffed up with their self-righteousness claim to speak for them as some imagined majority—all virtuous people, all moral people, all thinking people etc. etc.—this kind of web cancellation will continue to go on, and get worse.

She’s too classy to do it, but I so wish she would (after confirmation, of course) very publicly resign from the sorority.

“We did not intend to enter a political debate [or] take a stand on a Supreme Court nominee…”

In fact they did not do either of those things, so why in the world are they apologizing?

Cowards. There go the MRS degrees. Smart men don’t want stupid women.

I will take the values and class of ACB over those of Harris and Hirono any day of the week. Hopefully, one day these girls will learn to appreciate the difference.
