Los Angeles County Public Health Director Recorded Saying Schools Won’t Reopen Until “After the Election”
The definition of a political gaffe is when he or she accidentally tells the truth.
A disturbing revelation about the political nature of pandemic policy decisions has been discovered by Los Angles area radio station KFI 640AM.
Los Angeles County officials have no intention of allowing students to return to classrooms, no matter the low risk to students and most teachers and regardless of the level of infections in the area, until the Nov. 3rd election is over.
Los Angeles County Public Health Director Dr. Barbara Ferrer was recorded saying the country’s largest county would not reopen its schools until “after the election.”
“We don’t realistically anticipate that we would be moving to either tier 2 or to reopening K-12 schools at least until after the election, in early November,” Ferrer said in a conference call with school administrators and medical staff, a recording of which was played on KFI’s “John and Ken Show.”
Her comments led the California radio show hosts, who obtained the recording, to speculate about why she chose to use the General Election instead of some other day like Halloween, as a target date, and whether the county health department and schools were trying to manipulate public opinion in favor of the Democrats.

“We don’t realistically anticipate that we would be moving either to Tier 2 [of California’s reopening plan] or to reopening K-12 schools at least…until after the election, after, you know, in early November. If we just look at the timing of everything, it seems to us the most realistic approach to this would be to think that we’re gonna be where we are now…until…we are done with the elections.
Los Angeles public health officials are speedily walking the statement back.
In response to the comments, a L.A. County Department of Public Health (DPH) spokesperson said Ferrer’s comment “was related only to timing any expanded school re-openings to allow for enough time from the implementation of changes to assess impact prior to expansions.”
“DPH will be working closely with schools providing services and supports to high need students over the next 6-8 weeks to implement and assess safety directives and strategies for ensuring infection control and distancing. This information will be used to inform the timing of future activities at schools,” the statement added.

Gaffe sure, she should have used a date not an event to establish the timeline. Is it simply to monkey with the Rona pandemic porn to influence the election? IMO not really. As I recall CA had put January as the ‘mark on the wall’ for a return to in person public K-12 school.
The folks.pushing the pandemic porn are almost entirely committed leftist. The date of the election as it relates to reopening or ending lockdown is irrelevant, IMO. These folks are running wild, drunk with the power their ’emergency health declaration’ have provided them. A little thing like an election isn’t going to cause them to voluntarily relinquish such unchecked power.

Instead they use inconsistent metrics that change almost daily. Now we are down to red light/orange light/yellow light/green light goofiness. Credibility is now zero. I suspect that’s the date chosen so that teachers will not be tied up in classrooms and can be out causing mischief between now and then. And even afterwards since they say it’s till the elections are over. Dems are telling us it could be weeks until we know the results of the elections.
The school district my grandchildren are in were all set for a partial return to school until just before school started, when it became all remote learning. They said they would “revisit” their decision Nov. 3. Funny that timing.
Lemme guess: If Trump wins, there will be school districts deciding to stay closed for much longer. If Biden wins, schools will suddenly start opening.

I have a hard science PhD. It makes me uncomfortable to be addressed as Dr. Outside an academic setting. I am afraid someone might want a prostate exam.
BTW, academically, a MD is a MS with mandatory OJT. A (real) PhD requires a contribution to the body of knowledge.

Back in March, I stated that IMHO, Covid was not significantly more deadly, or dangerous, than many types of influenza and that all, ALL, of the extreme responses to it were political in nature, not scientific. Well, surprise, surprise, surprise.
Now, I’m just an ordinary Joe, not some brilliant double-dome. If I can see this and make a strong logical argument to support my position, why are we still debating the issue? Because those responsible for purveying truth to the people have become political propagandists and are simply flat out lying to us. It might serve people well to stop watching Tik-tok videos and playing Candy Crush and pay attention to the important things happening in the real world.
Millions of citizens knew that from the get go.
Yet, they did nothing, apparently. Paul Revere could not win the Revolutionary War by himself. He could only warn others who would be affected of the coming of the British forces. If no one else took up arms in their own defense, then his efforts were futile. The same is true of the COVID response. A majority of people simply went along with the attack upon society. An attack which was designed to cause great harm to individuals. Well, unless people want to get run over by the forces of evil, it is time to put an end to this. To arms, to arms, the totalitarians are coming.

What happened is that the media LIED about COVID. It lied and lied and lied. At first, people believed them. Then, as the lies led to hugely conflicting claims, they became confused. But, the fear, that the lies promulgated, is still there. We see it in well-educat4d, intelligent commentators on this site. This has to change. As long as people fear the disease more than they fear the loss of their rightss and privileges, nothing will change.
