Roger Waters Falsely Claims Israel Taught U.S. Police the Maneuver Used on George Floyd

Part of a decade-long campaign to falsely blame Israel and U.S. Jewish organizations for U.S. policing under the banner of the “Deadly Exchange” campaign, a vicious campaign we have exposed many times.

We all know Pink Floyd musician Roger Waters hates Jews and Israel. He doesn’t hide his anti-Semitism. Now he is spreadling the falsehood that Israel taught U.S. police the tactic used on George Floyd. We have covered extensively this blood libel being spread by anti-Israel groups, including our recent Investigation: Anti-Israel Activists Falsely Blame Israel for George Floyd’s Death, Stoke Anti-Jewish Violence.

Some senior U.S. police travel to Israel for anti-terrorism training, but not day-to-day policing, almost all of which is done at hundreds of police academies in the U.S.

Waters went to the edge when he said on pro-Hamas Shehab News Agency that American businessman Sheldon Anderson has President Donald Trump, Secretary of State Mike Pompeo, and U.S. Ambassador to Israel David Friedman in his pocket.

Waters jumped off the edge when he blamed Israel for the death of George Floyd in Minneapolis.

This left me speechless, especially the last line. I just cannot with these people.

Middle East Media Research Institute has the video and transcript (emphasis mine):

Roger Waters: “Sheldon Adelson, who is the puppet master pulling the strings of Donald Trump, Mike Pompeo, and what’s his name… The Ambassador [to Israel], Greenberg [sic] I think his name is. Sheldon Adelson is the puppet master pulling all of the strings. And Sheldon Adelson is a right-wing fascist racist bigot who doesn’t understand the first thing about the idea that human beings might have rights. Sheldon Adelson believes that only Jews – only Jewish people – are completely human. That they are attached in some way…”

Interviewer: “God’s Chosen People…”

Waters: “[He believes that] everybody else on Earth is there to serve them. Sheldon Adelson believe this. I’m not saying Jewish people believe this. I am saying that he does, and he is pulling the strings. So he has this strange – he thinks – Biblical construct in his head, that somehow everything will be all right in the world if there is a Greater Israel, which takes up the whole historic Palestine and the Kingdom of Jordan — puts it all together and calls it Israel and gives it only to the Chosen People… He is crazy. This is a crazy, crazy, crazy guy. Unfortunately. This crazy, crazy, crazy guy is also incredibly rich and has the tiny little – I nearly said the P-word that is used to describe the male genitals – prick of Donald Trump in his pocket.

[…]

The murder of George Floyd in Minneapolis last week was done with a technique invented by the IDF, by the occupation forces. The Israelis invested [the technique of] ‘let’s kill people by kneeling on their necks and cutting off the blood supply of the carotid artery to the brain.’ that is an Israeli technique, taught to the militarized police forces of the U.S.A. by Israeli experts, who the Americans have been flying over to the United States, to teach them how to murder the blacks because they have seen how efficient the Israelis have been at murdering Palestinians in the occupied territories by using those techniques. And they are proud of it. They are proud of it. The Israelis are proud of it. They go: ‘Look how good we are at this, you can learn…’

[…]

“Zionism is an ugly stain, and it needs to be gently removed by us.”

See these additional prior posts as to why Waters just a liar trying to stoke hatred of Jews in order to get at Israel:

The person who developed the U.S.-Israel police exchanges recently wrote, I Am the Architect of the U.S.-Israel Police Exchange. Don’t Believe the Lies:

These accusations are false and, at best, expose a deep misunderstanding of the nature and objectives of police exchanges. More likely, they are motivated by virulent bias.

The truth is, JINSA’s Homeland Security Program was launched in the wake of the September 11th attacks in order to address the well-recognized counterterrorism needs of local law enforcement in the U.S. Since that time, more than 200 U.S. federal, state, county and municipal law enforcement executives have traveled to Israel as part of the program, while thousands of personnel have attended conferences with Israeli experts in the U.S.

Despite suggestions to the contrary, there is no field training involved in either the conferences or trips, and no training on holds or arrest mechanics. The exchanges, which are hosted by the Israel National Police, focus on effective counterterrorism techniques.

Participants learn how Israeli law enforcement deters, disrupts, and responds to terrorist attacks. They explore the ideology of suicide bombers and other attackers, ways to de-escalate an ongoing incident, and the intelligence-gathering and -sharing process.

Trip participants have discussed efforts to build trust with minority communities, visited hospital trauma units and crime scenes, and spoken with terrorists serving life sentences for murder. One year, JINSA organized a specialized trip for American bomb squad commanders which focused on topics such as post-blast forensics and the materials used in explosive devices.

The knee-to-neck move not only is not taught by Israel, it is not permitted by Israeli police:

“There is no procedure that allows an officer of the Israel Police to carry out an arrest by placing a knee on the neck of a suspect,” Israel Police national spokesman Micky Rosenfeld told The Jerusalem Post.

“There is no police counterrorism training in the Israel national police force to foreign law enforcement officers that involves such a measure,” he continued. “It does not exist in any police text book.”

Just another jerk in the wall of thought control.

Roger Walters is a pretentious anti-semetic twit. The Wall is the most over-rated performance I have ever witnessed. Luckily, I was paid to be there.

Except for a few cuts The Wall pretty much sucks. The Final Cut totally sucks.

“The Wall” album is mediocre. “The Wall” movie was a vehicle for Waters to indulge himself in all of his drug addled Nazi fantasies, it’s so painfully obvious that it’s unwatchable. (which is why it is NEVER shown, if you’ve noticed)

This idiot is so vile and evil, such a miserable, useful-idiot dhimmi narcissist and Jew-hater, dutifully and gullibly swallowing Arab jihadist anti-Israel slanders and propaganda.

People such as this need to be condemned, vociferously. They deserve no place in the public square.

The underlying psychology involved, intrigues me, though. It appears that there are narcissistic Leftists who are so eager to see the world through a simplistic and biased lens of alleged “oppressors” and “victims,” that they are willing to ignore facts, history, theology and basic moral probity, in order to perpetuate a contrived narrative of alleged victimhood and oppression, and, to be seen as part of some allegedly “righteous” cause. These people are sick.

I used to dislike the black Floyd. Now I’m starting to hate also the Pink one.

If there were a verb meaning “to believe falsely,” it would not have any significant first person present indicative.

– Wittgenstein

The use of force may have been a contributor (e.g. stressor), but Floyd had comorbidities (e.g. Wuhan virus), and was high on fentanyl, which would explain the sudden break from the first uneventful nine minutes, and the need to restrain the suspect in order to mitigate risk to himself and the officer.

Years ago I stopped being able to enjoy Pink Floyd’s music. And even though David Gilmour has never shown himself to be a raging anti-Semite like Waters he has occasionally appeared with his former partner at some questionable fund raisers to help out.
Roger Waters has been filled with raw old-school Jew hatred for decades. It’s pitiful and disgusting.

He’s not even that great a bass player…

Waters is an egomaniacal nutjob. It’s little wonder Gilmour and Mason (and previously Wright) want nothing to do with him.

Wow, I’m thinking that Mr. Waters suffers from a serious lack of oxygen flowing through his carotid artery to his brain. The guy is a complete whack job.

2smartforlibs | June 23, 2020 at 9:08 am

I don’t know about you all but it would be damn embarrassing get the worldwide web and to show your that ignorant.

Massinsanity | June 23, 2020 at 9:19 am

Quick editorial note, you refer to Sheldon Adelson as Sheldon Anderson in paragraph 3.

I never liked Pink Floyd. Just didn’t get it. A number of my peers absolutely loved them but it never worked for me. I am pleased that I never put any hard earned money in this man’s pocket.

It is telling of the nature of the Left, versus the mask it wears, that Waters has not ever been “canceled”.

Wow, the Pink Floyd dude seems to be some kind of anti-semite Nazi sympathizer nut job. Up the dosage/voltage, buddy.

Antisemitism seems to be humanity’s most enduring evil. What is amazing to me is that antisemitism can easily be found among those who fancy themselves our moral and intellectual betters (artists, musicians, academics, journalists, etc).

Who cares what A drug addled aging rocker thinks. Why do we have to hear from these people and why do you people give them voice. The worst thing you can do to celebrities and athletes is ignore them. Maybe we should try that.

OFFS – “It’s da joooosss!!!!”

Really? like your music, Roger, but you’re an irrational Dbag.

I believe Waters — when he characterizes “crazy,” that is. I’m sure he knows the affliction when he sees it, every time he can force himself to look in the mirror — which, I’d suppose in his case, might truly be difficult.

Anyway, Waters sure is an ugly, stupid, probably naturally unhappy crank (when he’s off his intoxicants, say, probably coke and meth for starters; meanwhile, in case you’re unaware, real bass players don’t need intoxicants, ever, because for them, the beat-making, live and later, reverbing the beat mentally, off-stage, is so naturally good and sufficient at getting those enkephalins and endorphins flowing, but if and only if the player’s of sound, functioning mind).

As for his naked antisemitism, for more reasons than I can count on two hands, he ought to try another line of work — if he can find it.

For me, his interview-gig was not only a flop; it revealed how truly moronic he is, and worse. In a word, it and he were putrid
— as are all unsubstantiated, reckless, and malicious attacks on Israel and its right to exist as a humane, free and responsible, democratic state under the rule of its law.

Anybody, always and everywhere, should attack evil and governmental malfeasance, but only with verifiable and reliable, empirically compelling claims. Those claims lacking such robust truthfulness and not welcoming scrutiny aren’t, in the first place, worth any serious person’s time and interest. (If a second place is needed, the law should step in.)

I’d say, then, for now, “Get lost, Waters. You’re a real drag on civil society and the decent majority of people who comprise it.”

When people finally acknowledge that the knee to the neck, nor any other action of the police, resulted in the death of George Floyd [as clearly outlined by the Hennipen County ME’s report] all the rest of this BS goes away. The police did not MURDER Floyd. Their actions did not directly cause his death. Their actions were entirely lawful. Floyd died because he was a poster boy for terminal heart disease, was loaded with illicit drugs and placed himself in a high stress situation by committing a criminal offense. Floyd died due entirely to his own actions. The story that the police murdered or even killed Floyd is nothing but lies and slander.

Waters should stop hitting his head on “another brick in the wall”

He can’t have any pudding

I separate a lot of musicians from the politics they bow down to. There are some who are far too gone in their politics to do that with.

Pink Floyd created good music, though it’s biggest fan base were those who used some heavy drugs. Waters seems to have sampled far too many in his years, and it has warped his brain.

It’s a shame that a creative person like he is could have such a hateful twisted mind to think as he does.

Why is it that the left goes nuts over slurs and racial issues, yet never defends Jewish people when they are vilified by so many? And yet, despite the hate that far too many leftists in politics spew toward the Jews, the Jews support the Democrats in large numbers? I never understood this.

So is Roger Waters saying ‘I won’t be fooled again?’

Sorry my adolescent humour overcome me.

Make Roger Waters pay for The Wall….

Post Rodney King cops stopped using clubs on violent suspects trying to arrest them. In fact one of LAPD Sergeants said when he saw the video he said it was textbook (As taught by LAPD in the academy) use of force as they were trained.

The first jury let them go because the FBI ‘Enhanced Video” shows King sprinting at one cop at a dead run, and as he passes another cop clothes-lines him in the chest with a PR-24 and knocks him off his feet, and he pops back up like somebody threw a feather at him.

So now it is Tasers or choke holds, you can’t use a club anymore. Now it is just the Taser and pepper spray. Then it’s the gun.

After cops (especially small female cops!) start using their guns more it will be “genocide” I assume. If getting shot dead doesn’t deter anyone our country is lost.

There are pictures on the internet claiming to be IDF forces using the knee on neck technique. The police learned it from somewhere so I’m not convinced the IDF didn’t teach the technique. So this guy might be a nutter but the IDF trained to police still rings true to me.

I saw the Philadelphia Police use it outside a Who concert at the Spectrum arena in 1980 or 1981, so I think it long predates when IDF was training anyone outside Israel.

This was the first concert after the Cincinnati incident where people were trampled to death, I remember it quite clearly. We were afraid the concert would be cancelled, it was another all General Admission, no reserve seats concert. That caused the trampling at the previous concert.
