Former Vice President Joe Biden (D-DE) convincingly won the South Carolina Democrat primary on Saturday with 48% of the vote, while Sen. Elizabeth Warren (D-MA) came in an embarrassing fifth place with only 7%. For context, anti-Trump billionaire Tom Steyer came in third with 11% and promptly dropped out.
An obviously rattled Warren took to the stage in Houston where she ranted and raved, attacking her Democrat opponents and generally seeming a bit unhinged.

While she began by graciously congratulating Biden on his impressive win, her speech quickly became a train wreck. She declares that her goal is to amass as many delegates as she can (she got zero in South Carolina) and head to the convention.
She lashed out at her Democrat opponents, and in the process managed to throw fire on the slow-burning feud between herself and socialist Sen. Bernie Sanders (I-VT).
Part of this has to be a reaction to Bernie actively campaigning in Massachusetts and polling ahead of Warren in her home state. He is also fundraising far more than she is; the AP reports: “Sanders raised stout $46.5M in February; Warren got $29M.”
Elizabeth Warren responded to her fourth straight loss Saturday night by taking direct aim at her rivals — including Bernie Sanders.
“This crisis demands more than a senator who has good ideas, but whose 30-year track record shows he consistently calls for things he fails to get done, and consistently opposes things he nevertheless fails to stop,” Warren said in her toughest assessment of the Vermont senator during a speech in Houston Saturday night.
Warren’s campaign seems to suggest that she is now trying to eat into Bernie’s delegate count and #StopBernie.
Bernie supporters were already seething after she accused him of sexism and for claiming he sought an “unfair ‘advantage’ in the Democratic primary with his about-face on the question of how many delegates a candidate must amass before clinching the party’s presidential nomination.” Last night’s statements appear to have been the final straw for them.
