Journalists Are Really Mad Trump Attended Daytona 500

“The reason why no other president has taken a lap in the Presidential limo at Daytona before is that it is illegal.”

https://twitter.com/WhiteHouse/status/1229178152351600644

Sunday President Trump and the First Lady kicked off the Daytona 500. Swooping in with Air Force One and taking The Beast on a pace lap around the track, Trump served as the event’s Grand Marshal, the first sitting president to do so.

https://twitter.com/realDonaldTrump/status/1229204331112603649

And of course journalists are super mad that Trump took “The Beast” for a pace lap around the track. They’ve made all kinds of bogus claims including accusing Trump of breaking the law.

Great, now do Obama. I’m so old, I remember Obama having his own personal little concerts at the White House, the State Department spending five-digit dough on his book and so on. There’s also this little gem from Forbes (and this was before Obama’s second term):

https://www.forbes.com/sites/peterferrara/2012/06/14/president-obama-the-biggest-government-spender-in-world-history/#63f747611084

But please, do feign concern over the federal budget when an American president takes part in one of the most American sporting events in existence.

No lie – If Obama had done this I would have thought it was awesome. Of course, that would also mean he would have to love this country and all its citizenry, not sneer at it from his high horse. Obama would never have done this. No (D) would do this sort of thing.

We live in two different worlds and theirs sucks: Non-stop victimhood, misery, constant bitching about everything. When do they celebrate America?

Never.

The man’s a genius. No kissing babies for him, he’ll take a chauffer-driven armored car for a spin at NASCAR. American politics will never be the same.

It’s nice to have such a quintessential American for President.

Trump created new legends within the Air Force and Secret Service yesterday. The AF1 flyby and limo pace lap are stories that will live within the services for a very long time.

It’s telling that the media so resents a few little people getting an anonymous moment in the sun. Miserable fucks.

Notice that unlike certain past presidential families, you haven’t heard anything about any of the Trumps treating the Secret Service like garbage?

Meanwhile, Hillary’s detail is still considered to be a punishment detail.

I think he is pretty good at kissing babies, and hugging them… I love it when he does that… and the amazing thing is, it is genuine. The little children can sense that… Grampa in Chief…

Daytona was more than awesome… there isn’t a word for it.

There’s a really bad photoshop of ‘The Beast’ running the wrong direction on the track apron that has stretched the height of the driver’s side of the vehicle. Just measure the height of the tail light lenses.

Katy L. Stamper | February 17, 2020 at 9:22 am

Hmmmmm…. Political event? Hmmmmm….. More like cultural event…. Didn’t he go to the March for Life also?

This president loves America and her culture. He’s never kneeled during the anthem or the pledge.

If there’s a hearty American event, there’s a chance he’ll show up. Wedding? Check. March for Life? Check. Football game? Check. Military College graduation? Check. Golf game? Check.

He’s no sour puss, that’s for sure.

And the reporters? Someone on here used the term “law-itis.” They have it even worse. “Selective law-itis.” They ought to go to a shrink, get it checked out.

How about all the money on planes for vacations the Obama’s spent ? Planes for their dogs and so forth. On our dime.

I live in Volusia County and work in Daytona (I just happened to work near the Speedway when the president flew in). There was excitement and also a feeling of once again of giving the middle finger the to the media and the liberal elite. Even if you don’t watch NASCAR (like me), you have to appreciate a president who likes to be with the American people. Right now, no one else running for president is interested being one of us.

I disappointed that they didn’t open The Beast up for a fast lap.

Yet they didn’t care when Pres. Obama did an interview in the beast with Jerry Seinfeld

“Journalist are really mad Trump”

Yep that’s pretty much all I read before thinking; “Good”. Out of respect for Kemberlee I did read the rest but just that part gave me a warm fuzzy for the morning.

I’m so old, I remember entitled ingrate-diva, Michelle Obama, jetting up to the Vineyard with the kids in a separate government plane, because her Majesty couldn’t wait two hours for her husband to finish his work day, thus allowing them to fly on Air Force One, together. Very frugal, this woman!

I also recall Michelle Obama inviting scores of personal friends and her kids’ friends to tag along on state visits to sundry foreign countries, at enormous taxpayer expense.

So, miserable, hypocritical Dhimmi-crats, spare me the newfound frugality posturing — you idiots didn’t give a damn about counting pennies, when the sainted Obama was in office.

DaveGinOly in reply to guyjones. | February 17, 2020 at 12:09 pm

I recall reading, after all the Sturm und Drang about GW playing golf so often, Obama played more golf in his first term than GW did in both of his.

guyjones in reply to DaveGinOly. | February 17, 2020 at 12:47 pm

What’s notable about Obama’s penchant for golf, is that it was one of many glaring examples of what a posturing, narcissistic phony this hustler is.

Recall, when he was first running for the presidency, Obama cultivated an image of the “cool” guy who loved to play pick-up basketball, “keepin’ it real.”

As soon as he was elected President, Obama’s supposed love of playing b-ball disappeared, and he spent inordinate amounts of time playing golf, the same sport that the Dhimmi-crats love to denigrate as “elitist.”

Well, ESPN was more than happy to slobber over him and his picks before every NCAA tournament, election year or not, and even for a while post-presidency.

He also attended plenty of Wizards and Hoyas games.

As for the golfing, if he was in DC he mainly played on the courses at Fort Belvoir and Andrews primarily for security reasons and thus prevented plenty of others who were hoping to get a round in on a day off from being able to do so.

Look, I don’t begrudge a president for taking some personal time since the job is 24/7, 365 but an American gets beheaded for all the world to see and you’re going golfing the same day?

helenahandbasket in reply to guyjones. | February 18, 2020 at 10:36 am

If I played basketball like he did, I’d switch to golf too. Didn’t he hit 1 of 22 free throws at one point? On camera, btw.

Not an Obama fan, but playing devils advocate W loved golf just as much as the O did. Several presidents have, its one of the few outdoor exercises available to them in view of security concerns. (The Ronald would cut firewood, but few POTUS’s are THAT fit.)

I suspect the numbers quoted have more to do with W’s voluntary decision post 9/11 to forego golf outings out of respect for the dead of that day and the soldiers wounded and killed in the resulting battles later. Instead he started biking and jogging more. Not very socializing activities, but still good outside exercise, those.

In re : Presidents “wasting taxpayer money” play golf and traveling outside the WH grounds – I invite anyone playing that particular tune to get bent. I don’t care if you like the current one or not – I’m all in favor of whoever is in office not being a hermit and actually visiting places outside Washington. The LAST thing we need is a PotUS who lives in isolation and High Court solitude. The physical and mental health of the person with the Nuclear Football is important enuf that it’s not a “waste”.

Milhouse in reply to guyjones. | February 17, 2020 at 6:48 pm

I also recall Michelle Obama inviting scores of personal friends and her kids’ friends to tag along on state visits to sundry foreign countries, at enormous taxpayer expense.

How did that cost the taxpayers anything? The guests would not have got secret service protection, so the security costs were not any higher, and they would have had to pay commercial rate airfares (just as the 0bamas themselves had to) which were surely higher than whatever their weight added to the cost of running the plane, so where was the taxpayer expense?

“Only President Trump could convince NASCAR to schedule a race at a Trump political rally.”

(Stolen)

They’re not going to get far with this as an impeachment charge, legally. Trump was invited to be Grand Marshal at the event, which is a pretty normal thing as President. He was entitled to fly on Air Force One, and flying it over the track is fine as long as it was cleared by the FAA so they got nuthin there. As for using “The Beast” for his transport, this is again a normal thing for a President when traveling; that’s why it exists. Finally, legally, what’s the difference between driving it around the track and driving it around a parking lot?

They’re mad because he used to situation to his political advantage but that’s as old as the Republic.

For a quick lazy example –
Here’s a link to a picture of President Warren G. Harding with Babe Ruth.

http://www.sportsbroadcastjournal.com/curt-smith-series-babe-ruth-and-president-warren-harding-swigging-bourbon-in-the-white-house/

Every time Obama or BJ Clinton would visit LA to raise money from their Hollywood friends (which seemed like every 2 weeks), they would tie up traffic all day long. It was better to take a day off than commute to the West side of LA.

Also, the only reason neither of the Democrat parties ever attended any Indy nor NASCAR events was because of the overt patriotism featured at these events, not because it is illegal. The POTUS has a right to visit his country anywhere and anytime he wants. What should be illegal is the abusive commandeering of military aircraft by senators and certain House swamp rats like Pelosi.

I am also old enough to remember the aristocratic antics of the Obama regime. In particular, buzzing Manhattan in Air Force One during one of their “dreamy” date nights.

No better emetic than our so-called Fourth Estate.

Same journalists who were likely overjoyed when the Trumps got booed when they showed up at Nationals Park for Game 5 of the World Series.

Didn’t seem to bother these same libs when Aunt Jemima rented and entire floor in a hotel in Spain (millions wasted) to give the girls a field trip.

Obama never took advantage of The Beast for political purposes. Just ask Jerry Seinfeld.

In other words, they can all pound sand.

Ok, so now we know that the media whores for the DNC have been told to write about, this morning. Yawn.

Yesterday was fun.

Hold St. Obama or ANY POTUS that you endorsed in the past to the same standards and then we’ll talk.

Until then,…

keep talking and giving us reasons to laugh at your hissy fits haha!

I’m old enough to remember when Bill Clinton rented out the Lincoln Bedroom to campaign supporters. Democrats didn’t care about that.

least he wasn’t napping before flying to vegas for a fundraiser while a consulate was getting over run.

No. It is not illegal. That limo is designated personal transportation as long as passenger is the president or authorized by the president.

Actually, reading everyone’s posts, here, reminded me of another brazen example of the Obamas’ crude and brazen avarice and self-enrichment – – they put Michelle’s mom on the White House payroll as an official employee, a “nanny/caretaker” for the kids, so that she could not only collect a salary, but, more importantly, so that she’d qualify to receive a generous federal government pension, when Obama’s tenure ended.

If Trump had pulled an avaricious and self-enriching stunt like this, we’d never hear the end of it, from the selectively-outraged Dhimmi-crats.

Milhouse in reply to guyjones. | February 17, 2020 at 6:41 pm

That is obvious bullshit. A nanny/caretaker for the kids would be a personal expense, so if the 0bamas had hired Mrs Robinson they would have had to pay her out of their own pockets. Which would make no sense to do, so they didn’t.

You have serious emotional and personality issues. Go seek professional help, soon.

Milhouse in reply to guyjones. | February 18, 2020 at 2:30 am

Make what case? You’re the one making a bizarre allegation, utterly without any foundation at all, and one that doesn’t even make any sense, and you want me to make a case? I just made it — hiring a nanny would be a personal expense, so obviously if the 0bamas had done so they would have had to pay it themselves, just like all their personal expenses.

Or did you think the president and family live at the taxpayer’s expense? The only thing they get free is lodging. We don’t charge them rent to live at the White House. They don’t get anything else. And neither did the 0bamas.

I went to see a NASCAR race and a Trump MAGA rally broke out!

Do the media companies that travel with the President pay the taxpayers back for the air fare and ground transportation? They love to complain about the cost but they fail to mention that some of their employees are part of that cost.

From Kelly O’Donnell’s tweet:

The president looking for NASCAR fans support in his re-election bid.

As if he didn’t already have it.

Obama: Demands separate, his’n hers 747 Presidential jets, one for him and one for his wife to fly cross-country to the same event at the same time. Then demands a further private jet to collect their dog. This was for a non-public event attended only by a few super-elites.
Reporters: Ooooh, I’m getting a tingle up my leg!

Trump: Drives 2 miles around a racetrack, and thrills Joe and Jerome Average by showing up for an event they care about and getting as close to the public as today’s situation allows.
Reporters: Illegal!! Impeach! Whaaahhhh!

I’m loving it.

Next time, a little more show. Fit the Beast with build and tune plus a water/bleach dispenser. You know where I’m going with this …

Pull back 6 months: One Beast goes back to GM for a little custom work. A few lucky engineers and mechanics get to work on a unique skunkworks project and sign their names on the machinery, in exchange they tell no one nuthin’ until that vehicle is retired. A fiberglass fake-out body is attached for track testing.
Forward to race day.

The show. Have the forward escorts suddenly part, cross and fall back to each side, then cross and line in back of the Beast. It’s a visual distraction to anyone with evil plans, and a warmup move. Beast halts at the starting line. A small amount of water/bleach custom formulated for the occasion is dispensed in front of the drive wheels. Beast pulls forward 18″.

Then, the exhaust dumps open, the built/tuned diesel (~2000 lb/ft with escape tune active) blazes the huge truck tires in 2wd, which also burns the water off the track. The huge tires make a glorious howl, the bellowing diesel echoes off the track walls. It’s a V8 like a racecar, but the with a deep, chest-shaking sound.

Those custom tires it already has are speed rated for something over 100mph. Have the SS open it up to 85 (the speed limit on a couple roads in Texas) which is enough to — get the Beast up on the high bank! When it gets up to speed, a huge US flag deploys from inside the bodywork and flies for a full lap (it gets rolled up and stowed before the car stops, so the Flag never drags).

You tell me. Would the crowd go nuts at that moment? Would they ever forget? Would liberals hiss and spit, pores so dripping with condescension that their yappy toy dogs run away?
You know they would!

If how crazy, malicious crooked and treasonous freaks critical of this event hasn’t truly ingrained itself within your mind, you might need a new mind.

Their screeches of rage and indignation are music to my ears, and the pools of their tears the sweetest nectar.

I never knew how great having Donald Trump as President was going to be when I voted for him, and it just keeps getting better.

Illegal, huh? Well, there’s only one course of action: impeachment.

Illegal?! What law could it conceivably have broken?

Seriously, I don’t get this at all. What is anyone’s objection to the president spending a wholesome day at a sporting event?

Arminius in reply to Milhouse. | February 17, 2020 at 10:19 pm

The objection is that it showed Trump in more than just a good light. It showed Trump generating enthusiasm, excitement, and genuinely connecting with ordinary Americans in an atmosphere of mutual respect.

Trump doesn’t need to poll test his ideas. When he had the pilot of Air Force One do a low level flyby of the speedway the crowd loved it. And Trump knew they would love it. When Trump was invited AS PRESIDENT to be the Grand Marshall of the race he just knew he had to do a lap in The Beast. It wasn’t just the crowd that loved it; the drivers loved it, too. The drivers couldn’t quite believe, so they were in radio contact with their crew chiefs asking if the President was really going to pace the field. When they were told he really was, they all thought it was awesome.

Basically Trump demonstrated that he and the American people have a genuine connection and that Trump actually likes Americans and loves this country, and there’s no Democrat candidate that can pull that off. Exposing that fact is, as far as the media is concerned, illegal.

I haven’t seen a bigger bunch of whiners and sore losers in my life. I love it when they rage and lie about POTUS. Every falsehood they propagate diminishes their credibility even more; the American people are on to them.
My home town newspaper-Chicago Tribune-is on the verge of being bought by a hedge fund. All the pretend “journalists” are crying and begging for help from the same citizens who they have been deceiving for years. They cry about journalism ending just because their biased rag is dying a market induced death. They are so conceited to believe they alone were responsible for providing info. I wouldn’t piss on them if they were on fire. I savor and enjoy their tears.

I think there’s going to be a lot of print journalists learning to code in Chicago.

and I’m so old I can remember when Obama had AF1 buzz metro New York for a photo op.

Librals are pissed. Even better.

The Fly By by AF1 the pilot had a hard on flying over Daytona Motor Speedway.

Isn’t he using government resources every time he goes to a campaign event? I believe as a matter of course the campaign reimburses the government for use. That typically would not happen the day of the event. I think the libs objection is the massive audience and the overwhelming acceptance by the crowd of the avowed enemy
