Speaker of the House Nancy Pelosi will finally hand over the articles of impeachment to the Senate.

From Axios:

“I am very proud of the courage and patriotism exhibited by our House Democratic Caucus as we support and defend the Constitution. I have asked Judiciary Committee Chairman Jerry Nadler to be prepared to bring to the Floor next week a resolution to appoint managers and transmit articles of impeachment to the Senate. I will be consulting with you at our Tuesday House Democratic Caucus meeting on how we proceed further.

“In an impeachment trial, every Senator takes an oath to “do impartial justice according to the Constitution and laws.” Every Senator now faces a choice: to be loyal to the President or the Constitution.

“No one is above the law, not even the President.”

Pelosi has held onto the articles since the House passed them in December. Senate Majority Leader Mitch McConnell has consistently told Pelosi she cannot dictate the Senate impeachment trial.

Pelosi started to lose support of Senate Democrats this week. A handful of them, including Sen. Dianne Feinstein (D-CA) pressured Pelosi to send over the articles.

No one is above the law, not even the speaker of the house

i’ll believe it when it happens…

until then, it’s just more oral feces from the Queen of San Franshitsco.

Cocaine Mitch rules

McConnell called her bluff by signing on to Josh Hawley’s dismissal bill.

Imagine that! Standing up to Democrats works. Who wudda thunk it?

So the threat to Western Civilization takes precedent over World War III I guess.

Do you think Mitch telling her to pound sand has anything to do with the sudden epiphany? sarc

” Every Senator now faces a choice: to be loyal to the President or the Constitution.”
Remember when Nancy faced this choice during Clinton’s impeachment? Thank God she had the moral courage to remain loyal to the constitution, oh wait….

No one is above the law unless they’re a Democrat.

Perhaps, she figures she can embarrass Trump in front of the Chinese trade delegation

Think we have heard more than enough about the new flavor:

M&Ms Peach Mint!

Stuff yourself Nancy!

Every Senator now faces a choice: to be loyal to the President or the Constitution.
False Dichotomy it is, then!
Too bad the House Democratic Caucus didn’t choose “Constitution” on its menu list….

Going to be fun watching this whole thing fizzle.

I would rather see it blow up in their faces.

Me, too. I want a full-blown trial with every dirty trick Dems and the Deep State have played on Trump exposed. I want their money-grubbing children exposed and imprisoned. I want every penny of their graft laid on the table so voters can know how massively they have been shafted by Democrats, the Deep State and the lying media.

Bring it on. They have nothing on Trump and their own corruption is just waiting for the light of truth.

courage and patriotism
support and defend the Constitution
I actually think Nancy’s been lying so long those words no longer even have any meaning for her.

It’s Pelosi. I’ll believe it when I see the vote.

Odd smile in a veritable sea of sourpuss.

Thanks speaker. Now bend over and unclench. This thing is going deep.

    But but but……

Isn’t that were she stores her comically Bozo the Clown life size gavel?????

When D’rats try so conspicuously to wrap themselves in the Constitution, you know that they know that they’re up to something nefarious.

And unless she’s actually brain-damaged, Pelosi knows that this –

“No one is above the law, not even the President”

is rubbish. That’s the whole point of impeachment—until the House does it (and it hasn’t quite managed to yet) the President is indeed above the law. To be prosecuted for crimes he must be removed from office first. And, of course, he can’t be successfully prosecuted for non-crimes, even after removal. The D’rats centuries-old obsession with impeachment as a political cudgel, totally unconnected to law enforcement, has no Constitutional basis. C’mon, Nan, this is all Civics 101.

Meanwhile, nothing’s changed from last week, so there’s no reason to send the paperwork on next week. Actually, something has changed; her position has become weaker now that McConnell has made it clear that the House won’t be running the Senate. And that means there’s even less point to proceeding than there was before. She’s in a hole and sending this fantasy on to the Senate won’t get her out of it. All she has now is another week to come up with another lame excuse for sitting on the whole thing.

So put all the witnesses requested by both sides in a package and vote on the package.

Then they can vote on a motion to dismiss for failure to state a claim upon which relief can be granted.
