Obama DHS Secretary: Trump did not need Congressional approval to kill Soleimani

On Sunday, Obama Department of Homeland Security Secretary Jeh Johnson appeared on Meet the Press and dropped a truth bomb on the left.
Johnson said that the president not only had “ample domestic authority” to order the Soleimani strike but that he could do so “without additional Congressional authorization.”

Since the United States carried out an airstrike last week that killed Iranian terrorist Qasem Soleimani, Democrats have repeatedly taken issue with the fact that the Trump administration didn’t ask for Congressional approval. President Barack Obama’s Department of Homeland Security (DHS) Secretary Jeh Johnson completely debunked that notion during a Sunday morning interview with MSNBC’s Chuck Todd on “Meet the Press.”
“If you believe everything our government is saying about General Soleimani, he was a lawful military objective and the president, under his Constitutional authority as commander-in-chief, had ample domestic legal authority to take him out without additional Congressional authorization,” Johnson explained. “Whether he was a terrorist or a general in a military force that was engaged in armed attacks against our people, he was a lawful military objective.”

What do you mean by another impeachment attempt. The democrats haven’t stopped with their first attempt and have even announced that they will be “adding more counts” to the Articles of Impeachment as “crimes” come to light.
That’s true! It’s certain Trump spoke with multiple advisers before he authorized the attack, especially given the impeachment nonsense. They might add this to the count, but they won’t win in the senate, and I hope McConnell won’t allow them to keep an open-ended running list, although I’m sure they’ll try.
Word is DJT asked for a list of military options. Whacking Soleimani was the most extreme option presented, and the planners didn’t think DJT would go for. Haven’t they been paying attention? DJT is not a man of half-measures.

Today a NPR weekend edition nobody-backbencher tried to lay blame on Gen. Petraeus for Iran co-opting Iraqi military/police forces.

We need more people to cross the aisle and speak up for what’s right. I wasn’t a fan of Jeh Johnson when he was the head of the DHS, but it was probably for a no good reason – like “… he’s a Democrat.”
He’s still a Democrat but let’s give him credit where credit is due.

Obama ordered 2,800 air strikes without prior approval from congress. If he said otherwise, he would conform that Obama also erred in conducting air strikes absent prior approval.

Clarice Feldman (Clarice’s Pieces) wrote that Susan Rice (one of Obama’s liars in chief) laid some similar smack on Rachel Maddow on the Madcow’s show. Susan supposedly said that if Obama administration had the same sort of information re General Sulu Mangy, they would have done the same thing.
Now I know that’s a lie–Obama dealt in pallets of cash, not Hellfire missiles where the Iranians were concerned.
