Trump won’t participate in Monday impeachment hearing: “Pelosi has already announced the predetermined result”
“We don’t see any reason to participate because the process is unfair.”
President Trump will not be participating in the Democrats’ impeachment clown show.
This response is unsurprising given that House Speaker Nancy Pelosi announced yesterday that the House was going to proceed with impeachment. The implication is that is this true regardless of the outcome of Nadler’s hearings, rendering them moot.
The White House said Friday it will not participate in House Judiciary Committee impeachment hearings, blasting the inquiry as “completely baseless” in response to a deadline from Democrats.
“House Democrats have wasted enough of America’s time with this charade,” White House counsel Pat Cipollone said in a scathing letter to Judiciary Committee Chairman Jerrold Nadler, D-N.Y., obtained by Fox News. “You should end this inquiry now and not waste even more time with additional hearings.”
. . . . “As you know, your impeachment inquiry is completely baseless and has violated basic principles of due process and fundamental fairness,” he wrote. “Nevertheless, the Speaker of the House yesterday ordered House Democrats to proceed with articles of impeachment before your Committee has heard a single shred of evidence.”
A senior administration official told Fox News: “We don’t see any reason to participate because the process is unfair. Speaker (Nancy) Pelosi has already announced the predetermined result. They will not give us the ability to call any witnesses.”
. . . . Trump telegraphed Thursday he wanted to sidestep the House impeachment process and move quickly to the Senate where he believes he’ll be acquitted by the GOP-led upper chamber.
“Therefore I say, if you are going to impeach me, do it now, fast, so we can have a fair trial in the Senate and so that our Country can get back to business,” Trump tweeted. “We will have Schiff, the Bidens, Pelosi and many more testify, and will reveal, for the first time, how corrupt our system really is.”
Cipollone repeated Trump’s comments in the letter and said the House Democrats would be making a historically unjust mistake by plowing forward.
“Adopting articles of impeachment would be a reckless abuse of power by House Democrats, and would constitute the most injust, highly partisan and unconstitutional attempt at impeachment in our Nation’s history,” he sad.

At this point, with all of their 1776 allusions, I will not be surprised if don’t ditch the impeachment, start wearing Paul Revere and the Raiders costumes, and declare revolutionary war against King Orange the Third.
Rather … all acting like clones of Benedict Arnold…. dressed up in British red and acting like they are all the victors of Saratoga.
That’s unfortunate. President Trump could have used every second of his opening statement to lambast the Fascist-Progressive Democrats and their Fascist-Progressive process, then stated for the record anything he wanted…from repeating verbatim Handsy Joe’s actual quid-pro-quo demand of Ukraine to destroying the Fascist-Progressive Democrat ‘arguments’ in-total, while bashing the complicit Establishment Media with every breath, then announced that his opening statement ended his participation in the fraud of a hearing given that the speaker of the House had already predetermined the outcome and ordered it’s implementation…ending with a “I am Donald J. Trump and I approve this message” flourish then walking out of the room.
Now that would be great theater!!!

The right decision.
Testifying in front of these self-centered yahoos would set a very dangerous precedent.
That was a piss poor attempt to detract from the Horowitz report. Not that I expect anything but an attempt to keep crooked Wray in office and to cover up the horrendous corruption at the CIA/FBI/DOJ, but the fact is no one is certain what it says.
The leftists are lashing out, knowing in a trial they might lose the people who they need to hold on to power. It is crazy actions, and you have to wonder why they are doing all this. Who gave the orders? Who is really pushing this?
Pelosi is growing more incoherent in her speech. For someone as politically astute as she has been, in large part assisted by Republicans who fear to fight back, this move makes zero sense.
I know a decent number of the National Socialists would follow the fascist like DNC no matter what, but you would think personal preservation would weaken the hold enough of the House members who don’t want to lose power. Pelosi is likely signing away the majority in the House. She is a lame duck Speaker through this move, so why follow her dictates?
I hope Trump gets his way with being able to call on everyone he wishes, provided they have documented truth for when they lie.

‘Participating’ in the hearing is a strange word to be used for somebody who would be required to sit down, shut up, and allow rocks to be thrown at him all day.

We should all converge on congress and take a dump in Pelosi’s office. In other words, act like Pelosi.
Trump is correct on this one. I’ve gone back and forth on whether he should mount a defense, but the outcome is preordained and his attorneys would not be allowed to call the witnesses they want so why bother. The Dems have assembled a circular firing squad and Pelosi, Schiff and Nadler will be yelling “Fire” from the comfort of their safe districts.
