Swastikas Discovered on Men’s Room Door at Worcester State University

“were removed by facilities staff and the incident remained under investigation”

This has happened at a number of schools in the last few months. It’s dumb, but it gets a lot of attention.

The Worcester Telegram reports:

Swastikas found on Worcester State University door

A Worcester State University employee reported Friday afternoon that swastikas were scrawled on the door of the third-floor men’s restroom in the Learning Resource Center, according to an email sent to students Saturday from Julie A. Kazarian, dean of students and chief student affairs officer.

The email said that the swastikas, which were reported around 3:30 p.m., were removed by facilities staff and the incident remained under investigation.

University representatives did not return calls for comment Sunday morning.

The email said, in part: “Worcester State University does not condone offensive symbols, language or artifacts that disparage or otherwise target an individual, protected group or diverse segments of our population. The University strives to create a welcoming, inclusive learning environment where all students, staff and faculty – regardless of background – can thrive.

Wow. Nazi symbolism on a toilet door. Jewish life in America is hanging by a thread. :rolleyes

Just going to throw this wild-assed guess out there that this is yet another hoax, a la Syracuse and its recent “white supremacy manifest”.

Fortunately the drawing of a penis, “Betty is a Slut” , and “Dean Wormer sucks” were left untouched by staff.

UJ, it doesn’t have to be a hoax. People have been drawing swastikas on men’s room doors (along with much else, as Hodge points out) since time immemorial. It’s just a nothing. I remember at summer camp, someone had written “flush twice, it’s a long way to the mess hall.” I don’t recall the cooks taking it as a personal insult.
