School Cancels Football Game and Puts Cheerleaders on Probation Over Pro-Trump Banner

“Upon receiving information, the NSHS football game scheduled for 9/20/19 is canceled.”

This is so ridiculous. The same students would have been praised for doing this during the Obama presidency.

The Hill reports:

School football game canceled after cheerleaders held pro-Trump banner

A high school football game was reportedly canceled after cheerleaders were placed on probation for holding a pro-Trump sign.

The school district, Stanly County Schools in North Carolina, tweeted that it “has been notified of additional information that could compromise safety measures in place for sporting events.”

“Upon receiving information, the NSHS football game scheduled for 9/20/19 is canceled. Safety is our first concern,” the district added, referring to North Stanly High School where the cheerleaders held the banner.

Cheerleaders a the school were placed on probation by the North Carolina High School Athletic Association after holding the banner at a recent football game.

The Charlotte Observer reported that the terms of the probation were not clearly defined, and that the squad was expected to continue cheerleading.

It was bad enough they were placed on probation when it appears there is nothing (at least nothing I nor Victory Girls could find) in the Athletic Association rules banning political banners. But probation is just “Don’t do this again, or there will be consequences.”

Now they’re canceling football games?! Punishing the team for what the cheerleaders did? Because of safety? They’d best come out with the “further info” soon, or they’re going to take a beating.

It’s collective punishment. It is no different from “Joey and Johnny acted up during the school assembly. So, every one of you must stay after school!”

Punishing the team for what the cheerleaders did? Because of safety?

They got death threats, is the obvious answer.

They need to punish the people making the death threats not the cheerleaders or the team. This reminds of back in the 60’s when people were punished for demonstrating against racial discrimination. It’s fascist Democrats violating people’s civil rights again! When will the ever learn?

Sorry, I don’t have the funds to support a lawsuit. But if there is ANY federal money heading to that school district, this might be a reason to cut it off and keep it cut off as long as ANYONE in the decision-making process continues to hold office.
