CNN’s Stelter: I didn’t hear my guest say Trump responsible for more deaths than Hitler, Stalin, Mao

Dr. Allen Francis, the former chairman of the Psychiatry Department at Duke University, claimed that President Donald Trump “may be more responsible for many more million deaths” that Hitler, Stalin, and Mao.

He said these comments to Brian Stetler on CNN’s Reliable Sources. Stetler did not push back.

Instead, Stetler insisted he did not hear Francis’s accusations.

Francis does not like it when psychiatrists violate the “Goldwater Rule,” which states that it goes against their ethics to provide any professional opinion on public officials they have not examined.

I guess Francis does not care if he does it, even though he stressed he did not because “it was an insult to the mentally ill to compare them to him.”

From The Washington Examiner:

“Well, I think ‘medicalizing’ politics has three very dire consequences. The first is that it stigmatizes the mentally ill. I’ve known thousands of patients, almost all of them are well-behaved, well-mannered good people. Trump is none of these. Lumping that is a terrible insult to the mentally ill and they have enough problems and stigma as it is.””Second, calling Trump crazy hides the fact that we’re crazy for having elected him and even crazier for allowing his crazy policies to persist,” Frances went on. “Trump is as destructive a person in this century as Hitler, Stalin, Mao in the last century. He may be responsible for many more million deaths than they were.”

Someone should provide a history lesson to Francis. Chairman Mao Zedong is probably the top killer of the 20th century. His regime murdered at least 45 million people as he pushed through his Great Leap Forward.

Soviet Union leader Joseph Stalin murdered at least 20 million people during his oppressive regime. This includes millions in Ukraine from 1932 – 1933 with the man-made famine known as Holodomor.

Do I really need to discuss Adolf Hitler?

It is disgusting and insulting to the victims, survivors, and family members that not only died, but suffered under these regimes.

To make it worse Stetler has the audacity to claim that he did not hear these words tumble out of Francis’s mouth.

It’s weird because at the end of the video, Stetler responds to Francis.

Also, from what I have seen when I watch the news, if a host cannot hear a guest, he or she will say something and ask the guest to repeat the comments.

Stetler did not do any of those.
