Poll Shows Ocasio-Cortez Most Recognizable Democrat in Swing States
Top Democrat: AOC’s prominence “could put the [House] majority at risk.”
Axios got its hands on a poll that could cause Democrats to lose their minds because it’s bound to get worse.
The poll showed that Rep. Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez (D-NY) has become the face of the Democratic Party in swing states. Thing is, this poll took place before the public spat between her and Speaker of the House Nancy Pelosi.
The group that took the poll only shared the poll results with Axios on the condition they remain anonymous.
The poll was comprised of 1,300 white people with two years or less of a college education. They are all likely general-election voters, which means they are the very people Democrats want to bring to their side in 2020.
It does not look good for the Democrats:
The findings:
- Ocasio-Cortez was recognized by 74% of voters in the poll; 22% had a favorable view.
- Rep. Ilhan Omar of Minnesota — another member of The Squad — was recognized by 53% of the voters; 9% (not a typo) had a favorable view.
Socialism was viewed favorably by 18% of the voters and unfavorably by 69%.
- Capitalism was 56% favorable; 32% unfavorable.
- “Socialism is toxic to these voters,” said the top Democrat.
One top Democrat involved in the 2020 races told Axios that if Ocasio-Cortez remains the top name within the Democratic Party, “it could put the [House] majority at risk.” The media concentrates on her, props her up, which means she’s “defining everyone else’s races.”
You can expect Pelosi to keep pushing against Ocasio-Cortez and the other four members of The Squad. The poll showed the Democratic Party is “performing better with these voters than in 2016.” Not to 2018 levels, but still, it provides them a chance to win in 2020.
This means Pelosi will want to keep the party around “mainstream members” and those who do not screech socialism.

Media are the kingmakers. And lazy at that. The recent wall-to-wall coverage of the NYC power outage underscores how egocentric and lazy they really are; media don’t even need to leave their home turf to cover AoC. Again, lazy. It’s the equivalent of eating salty sweet crunchy processed junk food versus cooking a savory and healthy meal.

Trump is an evil gemius. The plan is clearly to make IOC and Ilhan Omar the face of the Democratic party. Nancy Pelosi wants to condemn Trump and his “racist” remarks. I hope she does. Because when Ilhan Omar was openly expressing her hatred for Jews, Pelosi couldn’t bring herself to condemn her anti-Semitism. She was afraid to. The resolution they ended up passing didn’t even name Omar. It was just a generic resolution against unspecified hate.
Now when Pelosi passes that resolution against Trump personally for his racism and xenophobia then Omar and IOC will be the de facto leaders of the House Democrats. Pelosi will have well and truly lost control of her caucus
Then the choice is going to be clear in 2020; you vote for the Make America Great party represented by Trump. Or the death to America party led by Ilhan Omar.

Pelosi (feeling pressure from the Khmer Rouge wing of the Democrat Party) proposed a resolution supporting the little Stalins. Oh, please do so! Then the next time they make some antisemitic slur (which only happens on days of the week ending in “y”) Trump can point to Democrats’ foolish decision to go on record on support of these little monsters.
