Kamala Harris surges after debate, but her target Joe Biden stays steady on top in latest poll

It looks like the media is once again out of touch with regular Americans as they gush over Sens. Kamala Harris (D) and Elizabeth Warren (D).

The latest Politico/Morning Consult poll shows former Vice President Joe Biden still in the top spot. Now he lost a few points but still has a commanding lead.

Look at how Politico reported on its own poll. The headline reads, “Harris surges to third place in national poll after debate.” The article only mentioned Biden once to point out how Harris roasted the former vice president over his past opposition on school busing.

Okay, bro. Harris is tied with Warren for third at 12%. Biden leads at 33%!

33%! Sen. Bernie Sanders is in second at 19%. That is quite the drop-off.

Biden did not lose many points from the previous poll, which came out on June 23. He had the lead in that one at 38%. Sanders maintained his 19% in the poll.

South Bend Mayor Pete Buttigieg received 6% of the respondents while Sen. Cory Booker (NJ) has 3%. Beto O’Rourke and Andrew Yang tied with 2%. Nine others tied for ninth at 1% and the rest of the gang received 0%.

For second choices, Biden supporters chose Sanders (32%) and then Warren (15%) and Harris (14%). Supporters of Sanders chose Biden (27%), Warren (22%), and Harris (8%). Weirdly enough, only Sanders’ supporters chose Biden as their top second choice. He did not appear on the list when asked for second choices from Harris, Warren, and Buttigieg supporters.

Despite better performances by Harris and Warren, name recognition and favorability helped Biden.

Biden barely leads Sanders, but Warren sits at 63% and Harris at 55%.
