While campaigning in New Hampshire on Friday, Joe Biden was met with something he is probably very unused to seeing. Left wing protesters confronted him about deportations that occurred under the Obama administration.
Stephanie Murray reports at Politico:
Protesters rail against Biden on deportationsProtesters disrupted Joe Biden‘s first campaign event Friday at the start of his weekend swing through New Hampshire.Frustrated by immigration policy under the Obama administration, a dozen activists led by national immigration group Movimiento Cosecha derailed Biden’s post-speech meet-and-greet with chants and signs, and called on Biden to apologize for mass deportations that occurred during his time as Barack Obama’s vice president.Biden has come under fire for the 3 million deportations that occurred under the Obama administration, and Movimiento Cosecha recently held another protest at the former vice president’s campaign headquarters in Philadelphia.About a dozen protesters surrounded Biden with signs that read “End all detention. End all deportation on Day 1” and “We haven’t forgotten 3 million deportations.”The activists who interrupted Biden’s community event also introduced him to a Guatemalan man whose brother had been deported under Obama…“I will not apologize for deportation if the person committed a felony,” Biden told the protesters, as his staff tried to clear a path through protesters and Biden supporters jockeying for selfies, to remove the former vice president from the crowd. “I will apologize for deportations if in fact they deported because, in fact, they were engaged in a misdemeanor and or their family was separated.”
Biden has made it clear that he is running on the record of the Obama administration, but he probably wasn’t counting on this being an issue.
As you’ll see in the video below, at one point the protesters start chanting in unison demanding an apology. Don’t you think some of these people probably voted for Obama in 2008 and/or 2012?
Also, does this mean Obama will be confronted by protesters like these at some point in the future? That would be something to see.
Watch below as Biden grapples with the new woke left his party helped create:
In case anyone has forgotten, this was an issue for Biden in the second night of the first debates.

DIAZ-BALART: … the Obama-Biden administration was — the Obama-Biden administration deported more than 3 million Americans. My question to you is, if an individual is living in the United States of America without documents, and that is his only offense, should that person be deported?(UNKNOWN): No.BIDEN: Depending if they committed a major crime, they should be deported. And the president was left in a — President Obama I think did a heck of a job. To compare him to what this guy is doing is absolutely I find immoral.(APPLAUSE)But the fact is that, look, we should not be locking people up. We should be making sure we change the circumstance, as we did, why they would leave in the first place. And those who come seeking asylum, we should immediately have the capacity to absorb them, keep them safe until they can be heard.DIAZ-BALART: Fifteen seconds, if you could, if you wish to answer. Should someone who is here without documents, and that is his only offense, should that person be deported?BIDEN: That person should not be the focus of deportation. We should fundamentally change the way we deal with things.
I’m guessing we haven’t heard the last of this. If ICE carries out deportations this weekend, it will likely become a topic for the next debate, and Biden will be asked about it again.
He’s going to need a better answer than the one he gave to the protesters in New Hampshire.
