That’s one less whack job we need to worry about.

Must have been a Democrat no?

Shades of Saigon and Madame Diem’s “barbecued monks”. Self immolation is definitely a sincere form of protest.

Most of them only do it metaphorically.

talk about “Hot Wheels”… someone just earned themselves at least a 72 hour psych hold for evaluation, and maybe more, depending on the results of that, and whatever an investigation turns up.

Lafayette Park: It used to be such a nice park. There was a time I walked through it twice a day, five days week. Sometimes more frequently. Always pleasant.

The oddest incident was, while returning from viewing the funeral procession from the White House to the Capital, a woman telling us that Oswald had been murdered. We thought was mistaken only to learn differently upon arrival home.

To clarify the funeral procession was that of JFK. Also, it was not “always pleasant.” There were, at times, interludes of uncongeniality, e.g. when the Iranians were parading around banging on drums while shouting “Down with the Shah!”

Your memory is excellent. I also recall sitting in Lafayette Park, in the early 60s, and thinking of how beautiful D.C. was. It still is beautiful, depending on the time of year, time of day, and your reason for being there.

FFW a decade and I was there when John fonda-Kerry was walking around in surplus fatigues, throwing someone’s medals into a a burn barrel and being just as ignorant as he remains today.

Ahh, the good ol’ days when Bob Levy was actually amusing, The Star was still in circulation, and Saab advertised itself in appeal to the lunatic fringe!

Sometimes the “good ol’ days” were exactly that. No, they weren’t perfect, but there was enough goodness about them to mourn there passing, especially when what replaced wasn’t for a turn to the better.

Haha, Oh hell yes! Started off in Takoma Park, migrated to Silver Spring, then Wheaton, Gaithersburg and finally way out in Germantown while it was still a farming community.

I remember when people in NE would sit on their porches, or front steps, on hot summer nights and got to know the neighbors.

My favorite part of that area was WGMS, Dennis Owens’ assembled ears, Renee Cheney’s sultry, sophisticated voice and Walt Starling’s very useful traffic reports.

Been gone since 2000 but still go to the WTOP site to see what’s up–Bob Marburg and whatnot.

Mostly work, although also play, would find me on the streets of D.C. without a second thought. Sunday evenings consisted of a fine meal, hand-dipped ice cream, and three radio programs: The Joy Boys, one whose name escapes that featured the priceless monologues of Bill Cosby (e.g., Noah and the Ark), and an inspiring program about Arturo Toscanini.

And, thank you NK. Invoked some memories, fond ones, I hadn’t thought about in some time.

New meaning to “flaming liberal”.

It is tragic that, between the media and the lefties, too many folks are tilted over the edge.

The apocalyptic forecasts/scare tactics from the hate-filled dems are driving violence, self-destruction, depression and knee-jerk stupidity towards anything their puppet-masters and anti-Trumpers don’t agree with.

On the other hand, these weak-minded, deluded fools deserve every bad thing they do to themselves.

They put the fire out?
Good grief, I wouldn’t call that service…

Putting the fire out may be a form of delivering justice. The person may well be disfigured of life, and after one experience with burning, they will not do that again. Memory of the pain will be burned into their brain.
