As we’ve noted in a Quick Take, there is an effort underway to get Justice Brett Kavanaugh fired from a teaching job at George Mason University.
What we didn’t know until now is that one of the actors in this campaign is former Hillary Clinton press secretary Brian Fallon.
Beth Baumann reports at Townhall:
Here’s How One Former Hillary Staffer Is Working To Shape The News Cycle Over Kavanaugh’s ‘Misconduct’Hillary Clinton’s 2016 Press Secretary, Brian Fallon, is now Executive Director of Demand Justice, a liberal advocacy group. When Fallon found out about George Mason University student’s calls for Supreme Court Justice Brett Kavanaugh’s firing, the group began running Facebook ads in support of the cause. Those who called for Kavanaugh’s firing signed the petition “Mason For Survivors.”Demand Justice is actively running ads targeting George Mason students, encouraging them to sign a petition that would “terminate AND void ALL contracts and affiliation with Brett Kavanaugh at George Mason University” over Kavanaugh’s alleged misconduct. The group also wants students to sign another petition which calls on Congress to investigate the sitting Supreme Court justice.“Brett Kavanaugh has been credibly accused of sexual assault by multiple women whose allegations have not been thoroughly investigated,” Fallon told the Huffington Post. “His confirmation to the Supreme Court does not absolve him of guilt, and he should not be given a platform to teach. We stand with survivors and urge the George Mason University administration to fire Kavanaugh.”
Demand Justice is advancing their message with ads on social media. See the screencap of a Facebook ad in the tweet below:
Lukas Mikelionis of FOX News has more on this:
Ex-Clinton official leads ‘dark money’ effort to boot Kavanaugh from teaching gigA top aide to Hillary Clinton’s 2016 presidential campaign — now leading a liberal “dark money” group — is backing a student effort at George Mason University to get Supreme Court Justice Brett Kavanaugh fired from teaching a summer course over misconduct allegations.A student group calling itself “Mason For Survivors” began circulating a petition last month, so far attracting nearly 5,000 signatures, urging to “terminate AND void ALL contracts and affiliation with Brett Kavanaugh at George Mason University” on the grounds that the justice was accused of misconduct. But the campaign is being given a partisan boost thanks to Brian Fallon, former press secretary for Clinton’s 2016 campaign, who’s now in charge of Demand Justice, a liberal advocacy group that doesn’t disclose its funding.Fallon and his group are paying for Facebook ads that target anyone linked with George Mason University, urging them to sign the petition, in addition to signing a separate petition that calls upon the Democrats in Congress to investigate Kavanaugh, the HuffPost reported.
Here’s a video report from FOX:
Had Hillary won the 2016 election, Fallon would likely be the White House press secretary right now. Instead, he has been reduced to running a smear campaign for a liberal ‘dark money’ group.
Be glad these people lost.
