New Conservative Hire at CNN Demoted from Editor to Pundit After Pressure from Liberals

“brings a wealth of government, political, communications, and legal experience to our team”

In February, it was announced that CNN hired Sarah Isgur Flores as a political editor to cover the 2020 election. She previously worked as a spokeswoman for Jeff Sessions at the Justice Department, and this enraged CNN employees and fans for reasons which should be obvious.

Leftists put so much pressure on CNN that Isgur Flores has now been reassigned as a commentator.

Jeremy Barr writes at the Hollywood Reporter:

Controversial Conservative Hired As CNN Politics Editor Will Now Just Serve As Pundit

CNN faced backlash last month after hiring Sarah Isgur, a Republican former spokesperson for then-Attorney General Jeff Sessions, to serve as a network political editor, a role in which she would have helped coordinate political coverage.

The network’s editorial management defended the hire, which was first reported by Politico, in a memo the next day, saying that the network was “thrilled” to hire someone who “brings a wealth of government, political, communications, and legal experience to our team.”

But, under pressure from the Democratic National Committee and other stakeholders, the network soon made clear that Isgur would not be involved with coverage of the 2020 elections, seemingly limiting her role at the network.

On Friday, Isgur announced that she will instead join CNN as a political analyst, the on-air role traditionally held by former partisans.

“It’s been a great vacation but I am back on twitter!” she wrote. “And news: I will go to CNN as a Political Analyst instead. Will start next month on air and on line. See y’all soon!”

If Isgur Flores is satisfied with this decision, then good for her. It still serves as a reminder of how biased the media is against conservatives, even though the field is saturated with progressives.

Ashe Schow of the Daily Wire makes a great point about this:

Newsrooms are dominated by left-leaning writers and editors. It is no surprise that a right-leaning person’s hiring would enrage the Left so much that she would need to change her position. Being an on-air personality, however, may be a more desirable position anyway, especially if the money and benefits are the same. Still, it would have been nice to know at least one right-leaning person existed in CNN’s newsroom.

Stephen Miller has the punchline:

Donations tax deductible
to the full extent allowed by law.

I hope this puts to bed the notion that the MSM leans left.

It is things like this which show the division in this country is at a point where it is unlikely to heal any time soon. Intolerance from the left is hardening the right to stop listening whatsoever to the left.

This is not a good positioning from any media outlet, even though they reflect society, as they are supposed to be attempting to reduce bias in their reports.

Of course we have seen this type of attitude for far too long in the media. The mindlessness of the left which act like children in pushing societal boundaries without regard for the damages it does, and throw temper tantrums when they don’t get their way.

More and more there is talk of a civil war coming. I believe it could well evolve into that. We are in the “cold war” stage of it and have been since the W administration, though some may argue it was since Reagan with some justification. It can turn hot at any moment, and unless adult behavior returns to the political discourse, it eventually will turn hot. There is no goo outcome which can come from this.

The last civil war had geographic boundaries, and a specific cause, even if it was conflated over it being one specific reason – slavery. This would involve communities, with city centers being isolated by outlying areas. Even in states like California and New York where liberalism and leftist ideology is growing ever more insane, there are bastions which disagree. No where would be safe, and it will mean the end of the US as it had been.

I used to reject the possibility of civil war, but my thoughts were captured by our previous one. Civil war does not necessarily mean we’ll have more Antietams. It can mean that we’ll have Belfasts.

Rent and watch “Michael Collins” to get some feel for the civil war that led to the creation of the Irish Republic. The difference between that and our situation, of course, is that some Brits retained shreds of decency. I’ll not be counting on that from the AOC cohort.

Antifa has been trying to start and lose that war.

Flores is identified as a conservative and she went to work for CNN? That is like a member of the Temperance League becoming a senior VP for Jack Daniels. What gives? How can she square a conservative viewpoint with working for CNN? What kind of future will she have there? This whole thing was nuts to begin with.

Mary Katherine Ham works for CNN, for example. Why is it so strange to you? The question is whether Isgur Flores will become more like S.E. Cupp or Bill Kristol and simply bark every time on air about horrible Trump and Trump voters, or not. Don’t think Ham does that, but I don’t watch that channel much.

Let’s see . . . . George Stephanopoulous with ABC… Clinton staff.
Chris Matthew, Carter staff and Tip O’Neill’s staff…

Whatever, the left would be nothing if they weren’t hypocrites.

Does this really surprise anyone? We are talking about the Communist News Network after all.

Oh God, that ‘Controversial’ tag. ‘Controversial’ to the MSM means anything liberals don’t like.

Hell has no greater fury than a drunk or an ignorant narcissist having their denial messed with.

So the Liberals Whined and CNN demoted her ??? Ha,,, shows how demented the management is. As for the DNC pressuring CNN ,,, the GOP should use that in their attack Ads along with the other 10,000 hair brained decisions the demonCraps have already displayed !!

The nerve of Ms. Flores. She should listen to her male betters and do as she is told like a good socialist woman.
