On January 23, Pelosi and Trump exchanged contentious letters about the SOTU, which was scheduled for January 29. Trump told Pelosi that he planned to honor her original invitation to deliver the speech on that date in the House chamber.
Pelosi snapped that he will not have the ability to deliver the SOTU on the House floor during the shutdown.
After hours of media speculating Trump’s next move, he tweeted at 11:12PM ET on January 23 that he decided not to hold the SOTU during the shutdown.

I think Americans have already had more than enough of this. Pelosi is jerking everyone around just to demonstrate that she can make everyone bark and heel at command, that it is she, not Trump, who calls the shots.
There will be plenty for Trump to talk about once the state of emergency is declared and wall construction gets underway. Now THAT is the SOTU America has been waiting to hear for eons already.

How do all the arrests and indictments he’s repsonsible for comport with that factoid?
He turns over his evidence that he finds to the federal jurisdiction for that area. Cohen was indicted by the SDNY, Southern District of New York who is prosecuting him. Same with all the other indictments. Mueller does not have the power to arrest or indict. The raid on Roger Stone was made by the FBI after Mueller went to the Grand Jury with his ham sandwich evidence.
Can Trump then fire Mueller at that point?

IMO Mueller is a traitor guilty of colluding with Hillary Clinton.

It would be entertaining if a special prosecutor were to introduce themself to Mueller, and start questioning him about his dubious conduct, past and present.

There will be two types: Completely silent tokens who are there to glare at him and for the press to bloviate about (Like Camera Hogg and others of his ilk), and shrieking harridans of doom who will pop off at various points in the speech at full volume until they are dragged kicking and screaming away (at which point the news media will be all over them)
Hopefully, Trump will pack the gallery with supporters, which will cut down on the shrieking nitwits. And the ones who disrupt the speech need to be taken out of a door that does *not* go by the press so they can be transported to the police station and booked without the press shoving microphones in their mouths. And thirdly, turn down the interior microphones when the inevitable shrieking happens.
Do you think Trump will be able to say what the true strategy of the D’Rats is: No wall or other physical barrier, so that the illegals can get at least one step in, and therefore be here for years, and eventually become Democrat voters. That is their strategy – say it! Also, no more of the 11 million here now; say it is at least 22 to 30 million, and that is a disaster and national emergency already.
I’m tempted to suggest that Trump should reply, “Gee Nancy, I was ready to deliver the SOTU on January 29–so I went ahead and did it in a national telecast. On February 5, I’ll be washing my hair, so can’t make it. Regards, Donald”.

Trump is on a high wire right now and he cannot afford to fall. Whether or not any of you approve of his latest actions, the independents have not been amused. They are the one group that he must win at least half of to win in 2020. His base thinks that he is going to pull a rabbit out of his hat but that is yet to be seen. My thinking is that he has to go ALL IN now because he isn’t going to get a wall from Pelosi and that means he has to take charge now. What he does in the next 14 days will probably determine his future. I just hope there is a plan B.
Maybe President Trump can address this in his SOTU speech also.
