Comey Implores audience to “use every breath we have” to defeat Trump in 2020
And to think, Trump was given hell for canning Comey.
Speaking to an audience on New York City’s Upper East Side Sunday night, former FBI Director James Comey told said “All of us should use every breath we have to make sure the lies stop on January 20, 2021,” reports CNN.
Comey also suggested Trump’s tweets could be construed as witness tampering.

Former FBI Director James Comey asked American voters Sunday night to end Donald Trump’s presidency with a “landslide” victory for his opponent in 2020.
“All of us should use every breath we have to make sure the lies stop on January 20, 2021,” Comey told an audience at the 92nd Street Y on New York City’s Upper East Side. He all but begged Democrats to set aside their ideological differences and nominate the person best suited to defeating Trump in an election.
“I understand the Democrats have important debates now over who their candidate should be,” Comey told MSNBC’s Nicolle Wallace, “but they have to win. They have to win.”
Over the course of more than an hour, Comey repeatedly derided Trump’s character, again likening the atmosphere around the President to what he saw in prosecuting mafia figures and suggested that Trump’s tweets could eventually amount to witness tampering. Asked if Trump might be an unindicted co-conspirator in some of the crimes recently described by special counsel Robert Mueller, Comey said he didn’t know, “but if he’s not there, he’s certainly close.”
Still, Comey said he hoped that Trump would be swept out of office without being impeached. Framing the rise of Trumpism as a political ill the country needed to exorcise at the ballot, he expressed a hope that Americans would “in a landslide rid ourselves of this attack on our values.”
“Removal by impeachment would muddy that,” he said, and potentially leave a third of the country feeling like their chosen leader had been removed in a “coup.”
Trump’s decision to fire Comey in May 2017 was a key factor in the appointment of Mueller, who was handed the job by Deputy Attorney General Rod Rosenstein in the aftermath of Comey’s dismissal and the subsequent leak of a memo in which he recounted Trump asking that he end an investigation into former national security adviser Michael Flynn. In a book and in public statements, Comey has become a leading critic of Trump — and Trump has berated him in turn, relentlessly and usually on Twitter.
Comey has no such feud with former President Obama, with whom he’s head over heels. CNN ctd.:
“I was struck that Barack Obama is the best listener as a leader I had ever seen and Donald Trump is the worst I’ve ever seen,” Comey said. “Obama had the confidence to be quiet and try and get that. Donald Trump is a deeply, deeply insecure person, so I don’t see any prospect that he would be able to be quiet for long enough to hear the truth.”

All of us should use every breath we have to make sure Comey’s lies stop. Furthermore, there should be a special prosecutor assigned to thoroughly sift through Comey’s history and indiscretions.
Comey should get a blindfold and a cigarette, along with Brennan, Clapper, Peter Stroker-Smirker, and McCabe.

If I was Trump I’d be declassifying tons of comey memo’s and whatever else I could to bring the dirt into the open.
I’m starting to understand Comey. I’ve encountered others like him, more often in government than in industrial or commercial situations.
He’s a professional mouse.
His career is dedicated to not being noticed. Especially in government, if he’s not noticed, he’ll never be fired. And eventually, the endemic disease of all bureaucracies—automatic advancement of whoever sticks around longest—will percolate him to the top.
Of course this is disastrous to an organization. A mouse can’t risk being near anyone else who might be noticed, so he organizes his department in such a way that it’s staffed entirely by other mice. None of them will be noticed, and so neither will he. Of course they’ll never get anything useful done, but that’s not the mouse’s problem. He’ll spend his life counting the days until he can retire with his full pension, and consider himself a great success.
For Comey, getting stuck in a high-profile case like investigating Hillary’s obvious crimes was the worst of luck. He couldn’t help being noticed, no matter how useless and ineffective a job he did. But he tried anyway. Of course he expected Hillary to win, with or without his help, and a mouse certainly wouldn’t want a disease like Hillary as an enemy. So, as always, he chose what his little mouse brain calculated as the least risky path to himself.
Showtime has been running a series about all of the terrible Republican scandals of the past few decades. Tonight’s episode was about Trump firing Comey, and something to the effect that Mueller had to pick up the torch of justice, or something to that effect. No, I didn’t watch. There were a couple of good games on NBATV.
The easiest way to know when an investigation is a sham is the moment they executives take the investigation out of the field offices and take control!
Comey is correct when he says we need to “to make sure the lies stop on January 20, 2021,” it’s just the Demoncrats that need to be stopped!
Can Comey be fairly described as a “disgruntled former employee”? He worked at a high level, yet, surely the description fits.
Disgruntled former employees are seldom given much credibility, as the reason for their disgruntlement is all too obvious. Yet somehow Comey’s supporters in the MSM never quite explain why he should be given any more credibility than anyone else who got fired and is now in full fury mode at the ex-boss.
Further, most people have the got the sense, should they get fired, to shut up about it and move on. Perhaps the firing was justified or perhaps not, but there’s seldom any way for bystanders to really know. And, really, no one really cares all that much about it other than you.
If Comey were still FBI Director, would be be just as anti-Trump and, if so, wouldn’t that disqualify him from continuing to serve? And if somehow not, well, you may see that as a mighty injustice, but, he’s the POTUS and you are not. And truly, your continuing outrage about it says far more about you than about that guy who fired you.
