It’s that time of year when we ask readers to help keep us doing what we do. For those of you who are relatively new here, our 7th Anniversary post has a pretty good history of Legal Insurrection. Our current psychiatric condition is discussed in Legal Insurrection is 9 years old, and filled with dread.
The financial challenges of running the website are greater than ever before. As with many websites, we’ve seen a significant drop in advertising revenue. That means reader contributions are more important than ever.
We already operate on a shoestring budget, so you get the most miles per gallon when you donate to us.

Update on Claremont McKenna College (CMC). A few may remember that CMC was the only school to actually punish students who participated in a speech shut down. And it was under some pressure from its alumni to do so, I might add.
CMC has now earned the Foundation for Individual Rights in Education (FIRE) highest “green light” rating. It is the only school in California to earn the rating and the single (likely only the first) liberal arts college to do so.
Unlike most colleges, Claremeont recognizes that this award actually attracts the type of student ready for the rigor of its academic programs. Seventy five percent of Claremont Graduates go on to get an addition graduate degree. Claremont has the fourth highest starting income of all college graduates in America.
