Former Co-Workers Allege Joy Reid Threatened Violence, Was Homophobic

MSNBC’s Joy Reid is having an extraordinarily bad month. After the discovery of all kinds of crazy, bad things on her old blog, some of her former co-workers are now making explosive allegations.

Lukas Mikelionis reports at FOX News:

MSNBC’s Joy Reid threatened colleague with violence, was homophobic during her radio days, ex-bosses say

MSNBC star Joy Reid physically threatened a senior colleague, accused a Republican politician of being gay on air and often referred to her hateful blog during a short-lived stint as a radio show co-host more than a decade ago, former superiors at the station told Fox News.

One described the host of MSNBC’s “AM Joy” as having been an “evil woman” in those days.

Reid has recently come under fire for old blog posts in which she made homophobic and anti-Semitic remarks, encouraged people to check out a 9/11 conspiracy-theory documentary that claims the U.S. government carried out the attacks, and shared an image of U.S. Sen. John McCain’s head PhotoShopped onto the body of the 2007 Virginia Tech gunman.

But now, Reid faces fresh questions over her conduct during her brief but “toxic” time as a co-host and producer of “Wake Up South Florida” on radio station WTPS 1080 AM between 2006 and 2007.

Threat of physical violence

Andre Eggelletion, former lead host of the morning show with Reid, recently spoke out about her for the first time in more than a decade, saying Reid created “the most toxic work environment I’ve ever experienced” and threatened him with violence.

“It was a very unhealthy work environment because of her attitude. She attacked me on a constant basis while I was there. I was even once threatened with physical violence during a break with her,” he revealed to Fox News.

The report goes on to say that these claims were corroborated by another former colleague.

Joe Concha of The Hill has more on this:

MSNBC’s Joy Reid accused of threatening ‘physical violence’ by former radio co-host

“It was a very unhealthy work environment because of her attitude,” Eggelletion said. “She attacked me on a constant basis while I was there. I was even once threatened with physical violence during a break with her.”

“There was a dispute over it and I told her, ‘Go ahead and call the manager,’” Eggelletion said he instructed Reid after an editorial dispute.

“’If you ever speak to me like that again I’m coming over there and it’s gonna be me and you,'” Eggelletion alleges Reid said in response.

Lee Michaels served as program director for several radio stations that included WTPS and confirmed the dispute had “absolutely” occurred in that fashion.

“It absolutely happened — 100 percent,” Michaels told FoxNews.com.

Reid has not commented on the allegations and could not be reached for comment.

If these allegations were made about someone like say, Laura Ingraham, she would have a serious problem on her hands. Luckily for Reid, her network and fans will continue to look the other way.

No worries here. Joy has the Bill Clinton get out of jail free card. The card is available to certified swamp dwellers free of charge.

Luckily for Reid, her network and fans will continue to look the other way.

Why?
Anyone knows why?

Being a black woman of the “correct” politics she is almost untouchable… though the thought of coming in any contact with her is repulsive to me. … just saying.

Like they say … beauty is only skin deep, but ugly goes all the way through.

I gave you a thumbs up but, I’m not sure what beauty you speak of….her ugly is on display all day everyday!

She’s a fraud…surprise, surprise

I don’t know why any of this would be surprising. Remember the leaked emails from the DNC, what they say to the world publicly is far different from what they believe. They march lock-step in their public rants for all that the DNC stands for these days, even if they are repugnant to them, because gaining power is far more important to them than being honest and having the principles to hold to the pillars of their convictions.

Who knew NBC would have hired so many misogynistic racists! I’ll bet they voted for Trump!! If not, they still clearly haven’t learned the progressive hierarchy and so deserve to be “ex” employees.

While I do enjoy the schadenfreude, I am deeply uncomfortable with our increasing willingness to ostracize and condemn people for words. We are getting to the point when an ill-advised off-the-cuff remark or a youthful flirt with a contrarian view may haunt a person forever. If we are too afraid to speak, then how do we handle conflict? Silence is not good for a healthy, functioning, and free society. And if there is no room for growth and no forgiveness, then what hope is there?

As I said, my sympathies for Ms. Reid are limited, but, as with Me Too movement, I find witch hunts to be very disturbing.

It’s not just words. It’s flaming hypocrisy.

If these people were ordinary people expressing opinions, they should be free to express them, and to change them over time.

But there’s a special hell for busybodies and holier than thou tent revivalists whose message is, rules for thee, but not for me.

One of the reasons Trump is Teflon coated is he doesn’t moralize at the personal level.

Clearly, Reid is a witch, more likely B

She should be fired and blackballed.

I agree, Anonamom. I think the flame wars between both sides continue to escalate, attacking not arguments but the person himself or herself.

Ad Hominem attacks are too easy, and the outcome is emotionally rewarding.

As to your comment concerning off the cuff remarks, yes, there is a YUGE difference in a one-time remark and a history of ongoing comments. By this account, Reid appears to be a bully.

But even tho she is a bully, rooting for her to be destroyed and unemployable (like the CEO who attacked a Chick Fil A drive through employee) is something I would enjoy but I don’t want to enjoy. I’d rather she was silenced for a time, and come out of it changed. But I realize that is highly unlikely.

Another mental patient with a microphone. But she has the “racial” get of out jail free card, so she’ll get through this. What a nitwit.

Forget it Jake, Joy’s not going anywhere.

According to the Hill, two of Joy’s male co-workers thought she was an A-hole to work with. On the other hand, two of Joy’s female co-workers said she was the greatest…

This sounds like two co-hosts with a personality conflict…
Probably not that usual and MAYBE even intended since conflict makes for more interesting radio.

The Hill’s comment section is the best part of this story…
First comment reads…”I wonder how many people Trump has threatened????”

Yes, this was a written piece about Joy Ried…but…that Trump!!!!! Dang it!!!!

Joy isn’t the only Leftist Democrat with those bigot problems. The Prof should check this out. From Ace of Spades:

Here’s the difference. When a person of the right says or does something that offends the left all of their resources, msm, Hollywood, Demorat party, twitter, Facebook etc. come to bear on that person and event. They find every historically similar incident to compare it to and tell every possible problem that can be caused by it. When someone on the left does the exact same thing or says something similar there is no such reaction from our side. Maybe FNC or Rush’s show will comment on it but there is no pressure from any of the most obvious sources. It is a fact of our lives that we NEVER have a team working for us. Even Congress is a mess when it comes to the Republicans being of one mind. If there was any other choice I would not be a Republican.
