Media Blames Israel for Killing Gaza “Protesters” During U.S. Embassy’s Move to Jerusalem

“We are excited to storm and get inside…Whatever is possible, to kill, throw stones.”

http://www.terrorism-info.org.il/en/events-great-return-march-expected-reach-peak-may-14-15-2018-mass-penetration-israel-accompanied-violence-terrorism/

The American media can’t seem to pass up an opportunity to vilify Israel.

Mass “protests” have left some 2,400 Gazans wounded and approximately 50 dead, though those numbers come from Gaza’s Health Ministry, not other, better verifiable sources.

To be clear, these were not protests. The entire affair was organized by Hamas in a months-long event called the “Great Return March.” The “Great Return March”, as it’s so innocuously labeled, began on March 30, leading up to final events on May 14th and 15th.

The events of the “Great Return March”, which started on March 30, 2018, are expected to reach their peak on two consecutive dates: May 14, the day on which the US Embassy will be transferred from Tel Aviv to its new location in Jerusalem; and May 15, on which Palestinians mark Nakba Day. The month of Ramadan, which will probably begin on May 16 (depending on the new moon), may also contribute to the expected violence. The culmination of the events, according to Hamas, the dominant player, is expected to be Palestinian mass penetration into Israel (as an implementation of the “right of return”). The mass penetration is expected to be accompanied by acts of violence and maybe even terrorist attacks exceeding what has been seen so far.

Hamas is heavily involved in the organization and planning of the “Great Return March”:

Statements by Hamas (the dominant organization behind the events) and the Supreme National Authority for the Return March (the front organization organizing the events) reveal that the Palestinians aspire to bring hundreds of thousands of Palestinian demonstrators to the border area on the peak days of the march. This past Friday, May 11, 2018, was designated by the organizing body as “Friday of preparations and warnings” and was supposed to serve as preparation for a larger event called “the Return March of the Millions,” which will take place on May 14, 2018 (Shehab, May 4, 2018).[1] The organizers call on Palestinians in Judea and Samaria, Israeli Arabs and Palestinians in the Arab countries to join the protests. In addition, anti-Israeli demonstrations are planned to take place in Western countries, including in London (protest demonstration in front of Israel’s Embassy, May 11, 2018), in Athens (demonstration in front of Israel’s Embassy, May 15, 2018), and in Vienna (demonstration on May 13, 2018).

Naturally, American news outlets are portraying Israel as the aggressor and are pointing to America’s decision to move its embassy as the catalyst for the protests, and ignorantly so.

A WaPo headline that reads thusly:

The New York Times similarly whitewashed Hamas-led violence in their headline:

The WaPo described the intentions of various “protesters”:

“We are excited to storm and get inside,” said 23-year-old Mohammed Mansoura. When asked what he would do inside Israel, he said, “Whatever is possible, to kill, throw stones.”

Two other young men carried large knives and said they wanted to kill Jews on the other side of the fence.

According to the Times of Israel, “‘Rioters are hurling pipe bombs and firebombs at IDF troops, burning tires, throwing stones and burning objects, with the intention of setting fires in Israel and hurting IDF troops,” the army says.”

Three rioters were killed by the IDF while attempting to install a bomb along the Israel/Gaza border fence:

The Israeli army says it killed three armed Palestinians who were attempting to lay a bomb on the border fence with Gaza.

“Moments ago, an IDF patrol foiled a bomb-laying attack by a cell of three armed terrorists near Rafah, close to the border. This is a particularly violent protest point. The troops responded with fire at the terrorists. The terrorists were killed.”

The IDF also says an Israeli aircraft targeted a Hamas post in Jabaliya after shots were fired at Israeli troops stationed in the area. There were no Israeli casualties, the army says.

Israel says 35,000 Palestinians are protesting at a dozen locations along the Gaza border.

Disrupters were encouraged to commit to memory maps of Israel in order to effectively breach fences and communities:

The White House is accepting no responsibilty and instead, putting the blame for any loss of life where it belong, on Hamas.

When Germany invaded Poland in 1939, did the media characterize it as a “protest”?

Is there any doubt that Palestinians have inflated causalities by at least 2-4 fold? When Palestinian numbers are inflated, Israel should take another bite, making their claims true.

Nakba! Nakba! Nakba! The Arabs are the only people in the world who celebrate getting their asses kicked.

Gaza marches have continued for weeks with casualties to match. Some have noted the relative quiet of U.S. media. The reason is now clear: it needed the hook, a contrast, a foil, in order to simultaneously nick Trump and Israel. Makes sense tactically. Media hates Trump, well, because, and as for Israel, anti-Semitism is the new growth industry of the DNC.

If you’re looking for Hamas human shields, we have plenty in this country, starting with our media.

What the press will never admit is that these are astoundingly low numbers when it comes to repelling an invasion. Add even a little artillery to the mix and the dead would be counted in the hundreds.

using arty would be overkill.

fougasse, OTOH, would be a great deterrent…

on the survivors. 😎

What “tragic deaths”? What’s tragic about them? And why blame Hamas, as if every one of those casualties didn’t choose to participate in a violent crime that would have got them all shot in any other country including this one?

Come on, man. Hamas is the defacto government of the Palestinian people through the PA. The government rewards their “martyrs” with financial compensation just like a worker’s compensation death benefit. Hamas murders Palestinian moderates as being complicit with Israel. Hamas, through its charter, is dedicated to the overthrow of the State of Israel. Hamas subsidizes hate.

    So yes. I blame Hamas.

a little reality check here.
modern palestin was created in 1919. before that it was part of Syria.
modern Palestine ended in 1948 when it lost a war with the state of israel that they had refused to recognize.
so anyone of arab birth living in that area is not palestinian. they are what ever country they were born in.

Palestine did not lose a war with Israel. Israel is the successor to the mandatory government of Palestine, and it did not fight a war with itself. It fought the war with Lebanon, Syria, Iraq, Transjordan, Egypt, Saudi Arabia, and several other Arab countries (plus unofficial forces of the UK).

There already exists a “two state solution” – it’s existed since when the British Palestine Mandate was split into Isreal and Jordan.

    https://richardlangworth.com/zionism

More recently Israel has – to this point – given up over half the land it controlled to Arab control – getting exactly bumpkis in return. Insanity is doing the exact same thing over and over and expecting THIS time to get different results. We already know the “Death to all Jews” Arabs are crazy, no need for the Jewish State to continue in the insanity that expecting those guys to allow them to live consists of.

And it certainly would be insane for them to agree to a further division of Israel – especially when all Jews are to be expelled from any territory they surrender whilst not only all Muslims are not be expelled from the remainder, but they Israel is pressured to allow unlimited immigration of more Muslims whose fondest wish is to dance in the streets with thier hands and arms coated in Jewish blood.

Maybe it is time to drive Palestinians back to Jordann and let Jordan take the blame for what they will be obligated to do with those Palestinians.

It is times, as this, when my very Southern Baptist butt is ready to pick up arms on behalf of Israel. Prophesy will not be denied. I regard Palestine as an agency of Satan and Hamas as less than a street pimp for the Whore of Babylon.

YMMV but I encourage the Embassy guards to invoke firepower at just about the least provocation.

Thank God that the Butcher of Benghazi and John Kerry have been neutralized at this moment in world history.

An msnbc reporter on the scene said the protesters were unarmed and then later in his broadcast said that some of them had “Light ” weapons. I believe an RPG is considered a light weapon along with AK’s and sundry rifles. History has shown the world that none of the innocent protest by Hamas have been innocent. That is the nature of Hamas. They will inflate deaths by using children who are not dead and they will use every deception that they know of including Photo Shop to create BS that the msm will take as fact. What is amazing is the the msm still fall for it!

Anyone who is still drinking the Hamas/Fatah Kool-Aid, ignoring the decades of self-inflected miseries that these groups have caused to their own people via their ceaseless corruption, their belligerence and their Islamic supremacist zealotry, deserves to be labeled a useful idiot and a morally bankrupt reprobate.

It is disturbing that mainstream U.S. media outlets, such as WaPo, the New York Times et al., are so eager to parrot such transparently fallacious Islamist narratives.

JohnSmith100 | May 14, 2018 at 9:05 pm

They do the same with every black punk who assaults someone, the same with Muslim BS, The same with illegal immigrant BS. Of mainstream TV, I believe MSM is the least credible.

This is all driven by Progressive-ism. Progressive-ism is based upon the idea that there is an immense ocean of poor, oppressed people, who must be saved and brought under the benevolent protection of the Progressive elite. And, most of the journalistic profession are Progressives. In the Western Hemisphere, this oppressed class is any minority and everyone living outside the borders of the USA. In Europe, it is the mass of third world immigrants who have been let into the the nations of that continent. In the Middle East, it is pretty much every Muslim, with the exception of those Muslims who are secular and not religious fundamentalists. Israelis, other Jews and Christians are, of course, the oppressors. So, the progressive media HAS to support the savages who are attacking Israel.

Now, Hamas is desperately trying to save itself. With the threat of a nuclear Mullah controlled Iran looming on the horizon, the Arab Gulf States and Egypt, which used to support Hamas and Fatah, now need Israel to blunt the ambitions of the Iranians. This means that funding for these groups has declined significantly. And make no mistake, it is ALL about the money. Yassar Arafat managed to amass a personal fortune of some $1 billion and controlled over $10 billion in PLO assets. Dead “freedom fights” equal bucks.

I think that your supposition explains the phenomenon that I’ve been attempting to find a psychological cause for — to wit, why otherwise intelligent, well-educated Leftists are so eager to embrace contrived and fallacious narratives of alleged victimhood and alleged oppression, no matter the facts at hand. It’s because they are attracted to such a worldview, like moths to a flame.

Thus, under this rubric, the “Palestianians,” by dint of their comparative poverty, technological ineptitude and relative military weakness, are cast in the role of the oppressed, “brown” South African blacks, while the Israelis, with their prosperity, technological innovation and military superiority, are cast in the role of white, colonial oppressors and usurpers.

When the Narrative of victim-oppressor is all that matters, one will mold a fantasy world to match that narrative.

Israel should start assinnating Hamas leadership. The Hamas ship of state will wander confused for a while, but so what. The alternative is another war with Israel. They can’t win. Hamas must be completely crushed. The surviving leadership should be put in prison camps for life. Israel could help the non Hamas survivors found a sucessful state.

Not releasing 1,027 Palestinian prisoners in 2011 in exchange for 1 IDF soldier would have been a good start. How many of those released prisoners do you think when back to violence and terrorism? I would feel really bad for that IDF soldier who was held for 5 years as a POW in Gaza. But I also would hope my own US government wouldn’t trade 1,027 let alone 5 terrorists for my release.

    JohnSmith100 in reply to faboutlaws. | May 15, 2018 at 1:18 pm

Israel should maximize collateral damage, sending a 1000 or maybe ten thousand Palestinians with each Hamas leader. They can serve Hamas leaders in death as they have in life.

      Arminius in reply to JohnSmith100. | May 15, 2018 at 4:05 pm

No, Israel should not and will not do that. They haven’t committed any war crimes to date, and now you’re telling them to commit an actual war crime?

Hamas is already maximizing civilian casualties on their own side in any case.

VaGentleman | May 14, 2018 at 11:27 pm

The legacy Of Walter Duranty is alive and well at the desks of the MSM.

Imagine if the Palestinians, armed like Israelis, were protecting their border against a hoard of 40,000 seeking genocide if they could.

How many dead would there be?

Suicide by IDF. What a stupid way to “protest”.

yourmamatoo | May 15, 2018 at 11:23 am

The media, liberals, democrats always side with terrorists.
Sad.

The U.S. embassy move to Jerusalem did not “trigger” the so-called protests or “Great March Return.” Rather, it served as Hamas’s excuse for violent actions meant to breach the border separating Gaza from Israel. But ask yourself: When did Hamas ever need an excuse for violent aggression against Israel?
