Hillary Blasts (Misogynist) Critics For Telling Her To Shut Up and Go Away

Twice-failed Democrat presidential candidate Hillary Clinton is lashing out again.  This time because people, “mostly in the media,” keep telling her to shut up and go away.  She must also be referring to the many Democrats who have said the same thing as she keeps pointing at everyone but herself for her 2016 loss to President Trump.

Her latest rant suggests that the people who said to her, “Go away, go away,” are doing so only because she’s a woman.

The Hill reports:

Hillary Clinton is striking back at critics telling her to “shut up” following her 2016 loss, saying, “They never said that to any man who was not elected.”“I was really struck by how people said that to me — you know, mostly people in the press, for whatever reason — mostly, ‘Go away, go away,’” Clinton said Thursday during an event at Rutgers University.“And I had one of the young people who works for me go back and do a bit of research. They never said that to any man who was not elected. I was kind of struck by that,” Clinton said.Clinton’s remarks came in response to a question from Eagleton Institute of Politics’ director Ruth Mandel about the former Democratic presidential nominee’s reaction to those who say she should “get off the public stage and shut up.”

She goes on to explain that former presidential candidates who failed to win the White House have not been told to shut up.

The Hill continues:

“I’m really glad that, you know, Al Gore didn’t stop talking about climate change,” Clinton said to applause.“And I’m really glad John Kerry went to the Senate and became an excellent secretary of State,” the former first lady continued. “And I’m really glad John McCain kept speaking out and standing up and saying what he had to say. And for heavens sakes, Mitt Romney is running for the Senate,” Clinton said.

This is such a ridiculous comparison that it’s hard to know where to start, but let’s go with the fact that none of these failed presidential hopefuls spent over a year (so far) explaining that everything under the sun—except themselves—was responsible for their loss.

They didn’t write books in which they blame everything from Russia and a vast right-wing conspiracy to misogyny and Obama to “deplorable” Americans, especially those deplorable white women who vote as they are told by their husbands.

Heck, Senator John McCain (R-AZ) pointedly told her to shut up just as he did after his loss to Obama.

Esquire reported at the time:

After McCain lost, his reputation for putting his country ahead of his ambition was further damaged by Game Change, a vivid chronicle that revealed his campaign’s desperate attempts to bring Palin up to speed. McCain says he resisted the temptation to immediately set the record straight with his own lengthy account, as Hillary Clinton did recently in What Happened.. . . . “What’s the fucking point? Keep the fight up? History will judge that campaign, and it’s always a period of time before they do. You’ve got to move on. This is Hillary’s problem right now: She doesn’t have anything to do.”

Does Hillary sincerely believe that if she were in the public sphere talking about anything else she’d be told to shut up and go away?

Is it possible that Hillary really thinks that the people telling her to shut up and go away are doing so because she’s a woman and not because she’s become a source of deep embarrassment to her own party?

The LA Times published a lengthy piece entitled, “Hillary, I love you. But please go away.”  The entire article was about her continued whining and blame-shifting.

When I heard Hillary Clinton on the radio speaking about her new book, “What Happened,” I groaned. Even for those of us who supported Clinton, or just didn’t want to see President Trump elected, retreading this well-worn path nearly a year after the election is an exercise in futility at best, foot-shooting at worst. Was the reason for Clinton’s defeat Russia, PC-culture backlash or Comey, Wikileaks, sexism or Clinton herself? Clinton may just be publicly arriving to this conversation, but politically engaged liberals and leftists had it ad nauseam — and have since begun the hard work of organizing a more vibrant, coherent and compelling movement. Ax-grinding, justified as it may be, does not change the outcome of the election; many on the left would prefer to build for 2018 and 2020 rather than relitigate 2016.

This was pretty much the reaction to her book across the leftist media.  They love her, wished she had won . . . and want her to shut up and go away.  Not because she’s a woman, but because she’s an albatross clinging to her outrage, lashing out at the world, and selfishly dragging her party down.

It wasn’t just the leftist media.  Democrat donors and political operatives have been vocal about their desire for her to shut up and go away.

The Washington Examiner reported last fall:

As Hillary Clinton gears up for her book tour, some Democrats are fuming that their former presidential nominee is returning to the spotlight.”The best thing she could do is disappear,” one former Clinton fundraiser and surrogate told The Hill. “She’s doing harm to all of us because of her own selfishness. Honestly, I wish she’d just shut the fuck up and go away.”. . . . “None of this is good for the party,” one former Obama aide told The Hill. “It’s the Hillary Show, 100 percent. A lot of us are scratching our heads and wondering what she’s trying to do. It’s certainly not helpful.”

After her latest attack on white American women for being bullied into voting for Trump by their husbands or sons, Democrats were vocal about how harmful are her continued attacks on the very voters Democrats will need this fall.

The New York Post reports:

Democratic operatives have an urgent message for Hillary Clinton: Please shut up and go away.Their fury and frustration were fueled by boasts she made in India over the weekend while hawking her new book, “What Happened,” that “advanced” states with better economies and smarter people voted for her.. . . . “I won the places that represent two-thirds of America’s gross domestic product. I won the places that are optimistic, diverse, dynamic, moving forward,” she said.. . . .  Trump’s campaign “was looking backwards,” she added, before dissing Trump supporters as a bunch of racist Cro-Magnons.“You didn’t like black people getting rights, you don’t like women, you know, getting jobs. You don’t want, you know, see that Indian-American succeeding more than you are. Whatever your problem is, I’m going to solve it,” said Clinton, describing her version of Trump’s “MAGA” message. She also said that women who voted for Trump were too dumb to make up their own minds, and had been brainwashed by “ongoing pressure to vote the way that your husband, your boss, your son, whoever, believes you should.”Weary Democrats said they had had enough, and that her clueless comments were reminiscent of her description in the campaign of many Trump supporters as a “basket of deplorables,” a slur that cemented her image as an out-of-touch Beltway elitist.“She’s annoying me. She’s annoying everyone, as far as I can tell. Who lets her say these things?” a 2016 Clinton surrogate told the website.“If these statements are a form of catharsis, it would be in the Democratic Party’s best interest for her to get these out of her system soon. We need leaders like her to look forward to 2020 and how to unify the party, not continue to re-litigate the past,” a former White House aide to President Barack Obama added.Democrats griped that her comments would make it tougher for Democrats in swing states because they would likely be called on to respond to her disparaging remarks.“She put herself in a position where [Democrats] from states that Trump won will have to distance themselves from her even more,” another former Clinton aide told the website. “That’s a lot of states.”

Hillary apparently believes that the only reason she’s being told to shut up and go away is deep-rooted sexism with a dash of misogyny.  She’s wrong.  As usual.
