U. North Carolina, Charlotte Suspends Three Fraternities

Three University of North Carolina, Charlotte Frats Suspended
The University of North Carolina, Charlotte suspended three more fraternities, according to a Tuesday report.
The school’s office of student conduct lists Phi Sigma Kappa, Delta Chi, and Lamba Chi Alpha as suspended after infractions by the organizations during the fall 2017 semester, reported The Charlotte Observer.
UNC Charlotte accused its Delta Chi chapter of giving minors alcohol and perpetrating “acts of harm.” The chapter’s suspension lasts from Nov. 14, 2017 to August 2021, and the group must participate in anti-hazing workshops with the school’s office of fraternity and sorority life for two years subsequently.
The school’s dean of students office received allegations pertaining to hazing at Phi Sigma Kappa and Lamba Chi Alpha on Monday and Nov. 2, respectively.
The Daily Caller News Foundation reached out to UNC Charlotte for comment but received none in time for press.
UNC Greek life is not the only one under scrutiny. Texas State University suspended all of its Greek activities in November after the death of a 20-year-old pledge and an attorney charged 17 former Pennsylvania State University fraternity members upon discovery of a video in which a deceased student received 18 drinks in 90 minutes.
