Man offers to donate custom-made caskets for Sutherland Springs victims

Trey Ganem, owner of Trey Ganem Designs in Edna, Texas makes custom coffins. Tuesday, he made the two-hour drive from Edna to Sutherland Springs to meet with the families of victims killed in church massacre. He’s offering free caskets for victims of the massacre, if their families would like one.

His designs are unique and personalized to each individual.
“This is something that I can’t fathom. It’s dear to me,” Ganem said in a video posted to his Facebook page on Monday. “We want to give back. So, if you know anybody who was in this incident let them know that we’re here for them.”
The designer’s message was viewed by more than 200,000 people, including friends and family members of the victims.
“I appreciate it. Thank God our family doesn’t need one,” Margaret Summers commented on the post. “My family member who was shot 5 times is recovering beautifully. God is so good. But thank you for helping.”
“Thank you for your love and your tender, giving heart to the friends and family of my sweet friends,” Barbara Sweet wrote. “There’s a special place in heaven for folks like you and I pray that you will be abundantly blessed for your generosity!”
Ganem encouraged people to reach out to him if they know someone affected by Sunday’s shooting.
“We’re blessed to be able to bless others, and this is something that we want to do,” Ganem added.
I’m always heartened by the goodness that shines through even the worst of tragedies.

Yep, Texas. Also a lot of “middle” America. Get away from the “big” cities, into the area that is the salt of the earth…this is what you find. Good people….
The sad fact, the news does not show the good until something bad happens….think Harvey (both of us in Houston!), etc…
Yes. Plenty of smaller towns even on the East coast states where most are salt of the earth too.

I will only speak of my home that is Texas. When Katrina came, we opened ourselves to our Louisiana neighbors. When Texas was covered with wildfires and the feds refused to help, we helped each other. Most of us have given up on help from the Federal government and the traditional aid agencies. You saw what we did in Harvey.
We will take care of our brother and sisters. We’ll take care of our neighbors. Because we are Texas. We will always be a bit ornery, and we will always be troublesome to some. But we will always offer a hand to those in need, and a consolation to the troubled.
Because God did indeed Bless Texas, and I guess we owe him that.
