Democrats not thrilled about Hillary’s book tour, call it “the final torture”

The longer Hillary insists on staying in the public eye, the more she rattles the already beleaguered Democrat Party.

Democrats are not happy with Hillary’s upcoming book tour for her memoir What Happened. As the party tries to regroup and reconnect, many think Hillary’s blame game will only cause more problems.

Politico reported:

“Maybe at the worst possible time, as we are fighting some of the most high-stakes policy and institutional battles we may ever see, at a time when we’re trying to bring the party together so we can all move the party forward — stronger, stronger together,” said Rep. Jared Huffman, a Democrat who represents a Northern California district. “She’s got every right to tell her story. Who am I to say she shouldn’t, or how she should tell it? But it is difficult for some of us, even like myself who’ve supported her, to play out all these media cycles about the blame game, and the excuses.”In a tweet late Tuesday night, Huffman pleaded with Clinton to stop blaming Sanders for her loss, as she partly does in the book, according to excerpts that leaked ahead of its release. Huffman said the tweet had gotten a lot of “likes” from his colleagues — albeit in private conversations with him.“There is a collective groan,” he said, “whenever there’s another news cycle about this.”

I blogged the other day about the excerpts leaked from the memoir that show Hillary lashing out at her opponent Sen. Bernie Sanders (I-VT) for causing “lasting damage” because he attacked her so much in the primary. Sanders fired back that “it’s appropriate to look forward and not backward.”

Even Sen. Claire McCaskill (D-MO) shook her head and walked away when asked about Hillary’s book tour. Those who worked at her Brooklyn headquarters told Politico that they “can’t handle it” and called the book tour “the final torture.”

Sen. John McCain (R-AZ) reminded Hillary that he didn’t write a book after he lost the 2008 presidential race to President Barack Obama.

We all know that President Donald Trump will have a ball going after Hillary’s book tour on Twitter, but a few on her side, besides Huffman, have already spoken out, according to Politico:

“A Sad, Petty ‘It’s Everyone Else’s Fault,’ Book,” read an email from Sanders die-hard (and Clinton’s 2006 Senate primary opponent) Jonathan Tasini.“Pathetic. But it is a planned mass PR campaign in prep for the corporate #Dems next candidate. Reality: 75% did not vote 4 her. Denial,” tweeted RoseAnn DeMoro, the executive director of National Nurses United.

Over at The New York Post, columnist Maureen Callahan blasted Hillary on her “cluelessness” over the reasons why she lost:

The subtext here — and the reason she was such an epically bad two-time candidate — is that we should feel sorry for her, not the other way around. It’s the problem with her campaign writ large: At a time when millions of Americans were economically hurting and afraid of being left behind, she thought “I’m With Her” was a galvanizing slogan. If anything, it should have been “She’s With Us.”But such is her narcissism, blinding Clinton to what most Americans saw: not a campaign but the would-be coronation of someone thoroughly convinced it was her turn.

Callahan points out that big name Democrats have come out against Hillary and want her to go away:

“When you lose to somebody who has 40% popularity, you don’t blame other things,” Chuck Schumer told the Washington Post in July. “What did we do wrong? People didn’t know what we stood for, just that we were against Trump.” Elizabeth Warren told USA Today that Clinton lost because “our side hadn’t closed the deal” when it came to reaching struggling Americans. Joe Biden, at a SALT conference in Vegas last May: “I never thought she was a great candidate.”

But Hillary’s not going away. Earlier this week Hillary endorsed the website Verrit, which claims its for the 65 million people who voted for Hillary. Gizmodo explained that the site allows the users to place text on social media cards, which “come with a seven-digit authentication code which can be verified on the website, supposedly ensuring social media users will be able to check to see the information contained within is accurate.”

Mediaite explained that Hillary booster Peter Daou developed the site:

Verrit was set up by Peter and Leela Daou. Peter Daou is a former Clinton adviser who has been incredibly vocal on Twitter since the election. After Clinton’s endorsement, Daou explained what Verrit is and who its audience is, saying that “Hillary Clinton’s voters… are unrepresented in the media” ….

But as Professor Jacobson stated, “HILLARY SUPPORTERS WERE THE MEDIA!”
