Evergreen State Appoints New VP for Equity and Inclusion

If there’s anything that can fix the mess at Evergreen State College, it’s another diversity administrator position, right?

USA Today reports:

Evergreen State College looks to mend campus following protestsEvergreen State College is endeavoring to mend divisions in the student body and faculty and improve campus safety after becoming a political battleground over free speech and race relations.Chastity Holloman-Douglas was just announced as the new vice president for equity and inclusion, according to a press release on the college website. The new position was made to help “foster inclusion for students, staff and faculty.”Holloman-Douglas had served as the director of the Center for Graduate and Professional Diversity Initiatives at the University of Kentucky. In this role, Holloman-Douglas has worked to recruit and retain underrepresented students to attend the University of Kentucky. She will move to Evergreen State College in the fall.“I look forward to joining the Evergreen family and advancing the necessary work to ensure Evergreen students can learn in an environment that is supportive and nurturing of all identities, backgrounds, and walks of life,” Holloman-Douglas said.
