Our friends in Louisiana alerted us to a nationwide blood drive being held for Rep. Steve Scalise who was shot Wednesday while practicing for the Congressional baseball game. Rep. Scalise remains in critical condition and has received several blood transfusions.
A New Orleans chapter of Knights of Columbus has organized a blood drive. We’ve included the details beneath:
New Orleans – Knights of Columbus Marquette Council #1437 (Louisiana) is encouraging all to “Make a Replenishment Blood Donation” for Rep. Steve Scalise.U.S. House Majority Whip, LA Representative Steve Scalise was critically wounded by gunfire in a brutal attack on Wednesday, June 14, 2017. His injuries resulted in severe internal and external bleeding, and he remains in critical condition after surgeries.- Concerned citizens can make a “Replenishment Donation for Steve Scalise.”- Each blood donor should contact the nearest Blood Center or hospital.- Each donor should state that the donation is a “Replenishment for Representative Steve Scalise.”“Please help us turn this tragedy into a positive public statement of charity, humanity, and unity. Your selfless acts of kindness will both honor Steve Scalise and his family, as well as refresh the critically short supply of blood reserves.”
