Yale Dean Placed on Leave for Calling White People ‘Trash’

“deeply harmful to [Yale’s] community fabric”

This story is an important reminder that students aren’t the only left wing social justice warriors on campus.

The Daily Caller reports:

Yale Dean Put On Leave After Calling People ‘White Trash’

Yale University placed Dean June Chu, who received criticism for remarks such as calling people “white trash,” on leave Thursday.

In an email, Stephen Davis, who leads the residential Pierson College at Yale to which Dean Chu belongs, told Yale students and faculty that the dean had been placed on leave, calling her language “inappropriate,” “unacceptable,” and “deeply harmful to [Yale’s] community fabric,” according to The Wall Street Journal.

“When I wrote to you on Saturday morning, it was with the understanding—and under assurance from Dean Chu, an assurance given to me and to others—that she had posted only two troubling reviews on social media,” said Davis in his email to Yale. “On Saturday evening, I found out that she was in fact responsible for multiple reprehensible posts, enough to represent a more widespread pattern.”

“No one, especially those in trusted positions of educating young people, should denigrate or stereotype others, and that extends to any form of discrimination based on class, race, religion, age, disability, gender identity, or sexual orientation.”

Yale Daily News published Saturday two of Chu’s Yelp reviews, in which the dean had commended a movie theater for lacking “sketchy crowds” despite its New Haven showing location and referred to restaurant customers as “white trash.”

Comments

I hate to say this but isn’t the racist jerk professor entitled to free speech?

The real story is that her aliases were disclosed and they found many anti-white comments under various nics. She was spewing anti white comments regardless of the forum.

Is it just me, or does the fact she outright lied about her social media posts seem to have been ignored by the Yale administration?

I know, I know. They’re all a bunch of liberals, so lying is a way of life.

Actually that will depend on the outcome. If she is a Dean then she has Tenure and there is a process that has to be followed before you can show Tenured people the door.

From the article, it seems as if the Dean called a specific group of customers of a restaurant “white trash.” This is NOT the same as “all whites are trash.” I have called certain people “trailer-park trash” and “white trash”, which in no way disparaged all whites.

I need a lot more info than the article presents to form any conclusions.
