Remember last week when Turkish bodyguards beat the crap out of protesters in front of the Turkish Embassy in Washington, D.C.? Since then Turkey has feigned anger and insisted they did not do anything wrong and the men simply tried to protect themselves.
Well, the New York Times dissected the videos released of the fiasco to identify the men and prove they started the fight.
Yes, Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan’s entourage took part in beating protesters at the embassy after the first fight. Reminder that Erdogan peacefully watched from afar as protesters received the beatings.

Several minutes elapsed between the earlier scuffle on the street and Mr. Erdogan’s arrival, during which the police separated the groups and Turkish security personnel remained behind police lines. A few seconds after Mr. Kose spoke into his earpiece, the men charged.“Ten bodyguards, they just crossed the street,” said one of the protesters, Ceren Borazan.
After head of security Muhsin Kose spoke to Erdogan, Kose “talked into his earpiece.” Then three guards around Erdogan’s “car hurried toward the protest.” The bald man in the middle photo “appeared on video punching and kicking people.”
The NYT stated that these men “appear to be part of a formal security guard” with their dark suits and in-ear radio receivers. They also wore “Turkish breast pins and lanyards with identification cards. Two men from that photo “charged protesters and appeared to start the main part of the fight.”
Others kicked one protester in the head and chest as he lied helplessly on the ground. Another man choked a female and “slammed her to the ground.” Four guards even attacked one protester at the same time.
But as I said before, Turkish officials said that these men acted this way to protect themselves since the protesters “aggressively” provoked the men to such violence.
These men wore the typical summer uniform donned by Turkish guards. Three men ran to attack the protesters:
One man knocked two women to the ground, and another man repeatedly punched Lucy Usoyan, a protester, as she lay on the ground. The third man kicked Mr. Yasa after he was thrown to the ground moments earlier.
Video showed four of the men arguing with police after the fight died down.
Sinan Narin wrote on Facebook that the whole “fight started with me.” He admitted that he kicked a woman to the ground, but thought she was a man. He insisted he would never kick a woman. He also claims he need to protect himself from the “terrorists” and basically did all of this in self-defense.
One man, Eyup Yildirim, yelled at the police that he is an American citizen and pays his taxes, but he had no problem kicking a woman when she lied on the ground.
