President Donald Trump concluded his first trip abroad as Commander-in-Chief with a speech at the Sigonella Naval Air Station in Sicily before returning to Washington, D.C., saying that his the nine-day international tour was a home run.
“But we have been gone for close to nine days. This will be nine days. And I think we hit a home run no matter where we are,” Trump said in Italy….The president is heading back to Washington, D.C. following a trip to Saudi Arabia, Israel, Italy, and Belgium. After meeting with the Pope, Trump traveled to Brussels for a North Atlantic Treaty Organization (NATO) summit and concluded his trip in Sicily at the G7 summit.“I can think of no better way to conclude our first foreign trip than to spend the time with you right here with the incredible men and women of the United States Navy and with all of our brave soldiers, sailors, airmen, and Marines and our great civilians who support them,” Trump said.
However, it seems that German Chancellor Angela Merkel thinks President Trump stuck out during the G7 meeting by failing to sign-on to the Paris Climate Accord declaration at the conclusion of that summit.
The G7 declaration will give US President Donald Trump time to decide whether to keep the US in the Paris climate agreement. German Chancellor Angela Merkel has described the discussion on climate as “very unsatisfying.”The declaration released by the Group of Seven (G7) leaders admitted that the US was still “reviewing its policies on climate change and on the Paris Agreement and thus is not in a position to join the consensus on these topics.”All other six leaders pledged their commitment to the Paris deal. An official announcement is yet to be made.
President Trump indicated who would be deciding the status of American participation in the international climate agreement next week.
Interestingly, some new signals indicate that President Trump is poised to #ClimExit!
U.S. President Donald Trump has told “confidants,” including the head of the Environmental Protection Agency Scott Pruitt, that he plans to leave a landmark international agreement on climate change, Axios news outlet reported on Saturday, citing three sources with direct knowledge.
Axios offers these 3 items as leading indicators that the U.S. will be withdrawing from the Paris Climate Accord.
They were right to be concerned. During the G7 meeting, President Trump told French President Emmanuel Macron he was under “heavy pressure” to back the climate deal.
Despite the media insistence that there is 97% scientific consensus on climate change, many climate experts and scientists in related fields want the U.S to #ClimExit. William Happer is a Professor of Physics, Emeritus, at Princeton University, and the former director of energy research of the U.S. Department of Energy. In a recent analysis, he reminds everyone carbon dioxide is essential for life and thinks the time has come to formally withdraw from this inanity:
After withdrawal from the Paris Agreement, the United States should commission a national red-team/blue-team review of the basic science of climate. The Intergovernmental Panel on Climate Change (IPCC) might have played this important role, but its leadership was quickly captured by political operatives, determined to support climate alarmism, even when this was at odds with the findings of honest scientists who wrote technical parts of IPCC reports.“Heretical,” off-message science has been ruthlessly suppressed to reassure policymakers that they had the backing of “97 percent” of the scientific establishment. It is time to do an honest job on the science of climate.Regarding policy, Americans never felt compelled to sign up for international folly in the past. We should once again show leadership and walk away from the Paris Agreement.
My suggestion: If you want President Trump to #ClimExit, then tweet, email, or otherwise contact the White House and lend your support. Consider it the counterbalance to the “heavy pressure” that has been placed by climate alarmist globalists. It couldn’t hurt!
