Violence Breaks Out Between Pro- and Anti-Trump Camps in Berkeley

“There are a lot of angry groups protesting”

People marched in cities across the country Saturday to show support for President Trump. In a few places, anti-Trump protesters showed up and in Berkeley there was violence.

The Reuters report below plays coy about who initiated the violence, but Trump supporters didn’t show up to make trouble during the Women’s March. Violence like this is the domain of the left:

In day of pro-Trump rallies, California march turns violent

Supporters of Donald Trump clashed with counter-protesters at a rally in the famously left-leaning city of Berkeley, California, on a day of mostly peaceful gatherings in support of the U.S. president across the country.

At a park in Berkeley, across the bay from San Francisco, protesters from both sides struck one another over the head with wooden sticks and Trump supporters fired pepper spray as police in riot gear stood at a distance.

Some in the pro-Trump crowd, holding American flags, faced off against black-clad opponents. An elderly Trump supporter was struck in the head and kicked on the ground.

Organizers of the so-called Spirit of America rallies in at least 28 the country’s 50 states had said they expected smaller turn-outs than the huge crowds of anti-Trump protesters that clogged the streets of Washington and other cities the day after the Republican’s inauguration on Jan. 20.

“There are a lot of angry groups protesting and we thought it was important to show our support,” said Peter Boykin, president of Gays for Trump, who helped organize Saturday’s rally in Washington.

According to the East Bay Times, it looks like the arrests made were mainly anti-Trump people:

A pro-Trump rally in downtown Berkeley on Saturday afternoon was marked by violence:

6 p.m.: Berkeley police say seven people were evaluated for medical injuries, but none needed nor wanted to go to the hospital. A total of 10 people were arrested, including five for battery, four for assault with a deadly weapon (including one with possession of a dagger) and one for resisting arrest. Police reported items confiscated among the combatants were: “metal pipes, bats, 2x4s and pieces of wood. A group with bricks was detained, and their bricks confiscated.”

5:15 p.m.: Three more people have been arrested, two men and a woman who were anti-Trump protesters, but police did not release any other details. The crowd has dwindled to about 50 people, and Rich Black, a pro-Trump rally organizer, tweeted to followers “To those still in attendance at the March please disperse and leave. The Police betrayed us.”

As you’ll see in this video report from CBS News in San Francisco, many of the anti-Trump folks were the same violent black-clad goons who always show up to start trouble.

Twitchy has compiled some tweets with disturbing images from the scene:

Let California secede. Maybe they’ll take these progressive fascists with them.

What’s interesting to note (and what no one’s yet mentioned) is that these thugs actually have a uniform – worn by all of them, across the country: black pants, black top, black balaclava, black backpack, and a baseball bat.

Brownshirts, every one of them, bought and paid for by Soros, enabled by democrat lawmakers and government sponsored universities.

This is sedition.

Slight disagreement. This is not sedition. It is war. Right now it is only being fought by one side, but that is not a permanent state of affairs. What is interesting is that governments controlled by the Democrats are actively participating in the war. Which will not be forgotten.

Camicie Nere, literally Blackshirts, like Mussolini’s thugs.

Blackshirts, actually. And we need to start calling them that. They are the uniformed terrorist corps of the Democratic Party, not dissimilar from Mussolini’s Blackshirts, Hitler’s SA, the various communist thug bands worldwide. Their mission is the same, to violently disrupt their political opposition and to sow terror of their gangs. And the police are often in collusion with them.

We need our own armed forces to counter them.

I wish I could say that I’m surprised; but I’m not.

I think it’s about time for our side to show that we are not afraid.
As long as we stick to following the law, we should meet their violence with violence. We cannot allow them to intimidate us, and if the police refuses to protect us, we have the right to defend ourselves.

And what do we do when the police start to haul US in, arrest US, teargas US? I am not asking this to be contrariwise.

I ask it because I fully expect for the police to follow whatever orders they are given, whether it be passive like standing down, or active as in round up the evil right wingers.

this is what fascism looks like: no wonder those a55hats in Sacramento want to disarm us…

that way their thugs can have free reign.

Violence by the left in KKKahlifornia is a solvable problem.
1. staple your pro-Trump signs to baseball bats
2. load up on pepper spray
3. @potus calls in the National Guard (see Alabama school house doors)

You know….if it was a bunch of Trump leaning “protesters” being arrested…there would be names, dates, charges, and etc. Since no names or anything else is forthcoming, I am guessing it is not the “right” being arrested.

Reading Bryan Burrough’s Days of Rage. Part of the subtitle or description is – The Forgotten Age of Revolutionary Violence.

Not sure the violent left ever gave up as much as just went underground and kept planning. I’m just waiting for the bombs to explode now for history to repeat again as the left has such a poor vision of government that they’re always being rejected and have to resort to making others fear them.

Something to watch in the MSM reporting is the rapid retreat of the reporters to Passive Voice. Violence ‘breaks out.’ People ‘are hospitalized.’ (Like a sudden outbreak of kidney stones happened, I suppose) The march ‘turned violent.’

More revealing on the Trump side is Rich Black, one of the organizers who tweeted “To those still in attendance at the March please disperse and leave. The Police betrayed us.”

It displays a notable failure in the pro-Trump demonstration organization. Guys, the police were *not* there to protect you. The Berkely police department is above all other things, Berkely. They were there to spot any Trump supporter doing something stupid enough to be arrested for and to haul them off to jail. The objective is for Left-Wing newspapers to be able to write a headline vaguely like “Violent Trump Supporters Spark Riot” or some other pap.

General Rule of Thumb: When someone wearing nondescript clothing and a mask rapidly approaches you (and it is not Mardi Gras), they are usually not collecting for the Red Cross…

Be alert folks! These cats are playing for real, and you can get real hurt real fast. Be safe and retreat FAST. Don’t just stand there like a statue.

By using that headline you’re taking sides- the wrong side. The headline should reflect the truth. Suggestions:
Democrats Assault Trump Supporters
Anti-Trump Fascists Attack Peaceful Pro-Trump Rally
Pro-Trump Rally Goers Assaulted by Anti-Trump Provocateurs

Keep it short, keep it simple, but put the blame on violence where it belongs.

Some of the young men from church who hang out occasionally at our house heard about this demonstration and wanted to go to show their pride in Pres. Trump and In All Things Conservative. A quick search by older and wiser heads came across a posting by the Berkeley College Republicans (you remember, the people who invited Milo Y. to speak on campus a month ago?) They said they didn’t organize this demonstration, they didn’t know anything about it and they very strongly recommended that people STAY AWAY. Their concern was this could be a set up.

Hmm, I don’t know, what do you think?

I heard comments from the guy who organized the Berkeley demonstration.

He claimed that he was NOT pro-Trump.

This started out to be an “anti-violent protest” demonstration but welcomed the Trump supporters who wanted to join in.

Regardless of who organized the rally, it was a victory for the Blackshirts. They showed their might. It doesn’t matter who they beat up. “See our power and tremble, Americans.”

I remember an early election Trump rally where Hillary organized bands of thugs to attacked the attendees. The police were ordered to do nothing and the SJ mayor blame the violence on Trump.

Nothing like getting thumped on the head by a “Free speech” sign.

Oh, in Berkeley the Grand Coup is to do it with a ‘Peace’ sign. Extra points.

What other well-known group of terrorists wears all black and even has a black flag? Why that would be ISIS! Both groups believe their methods are justified by their ideology. I went to two very large TEA party events in Atlanta and there was not one single violent incident. These pigs claim to be the lefts TEA party! No way, not even close.

Mannie in reply to inspectorudy. | March 6, 2017 at 9:03 am

They are more akin to Mussolini’s Blackshirts, and I suggest we start identifying them thus. Or Hitler’s Sturm Abteilung, the Brownshirts. They use identical tactics.

The initial response many people will have is for the pro-Trump supporters to fight back with as much violence as they are receiving. Have we learned nothing?
>
If the pro-Trump crowd fights back, then two things will happen. First, in places like California, they will be viewed as the aggressors and arrested and jailed at a much greater rate. The courts will also likely penalize them worse than those Leftists who are arrested. Second, it will fulfil the narrative the Left is demanding the world to believe. Fighting back with violence is a losing proposition.
>
The winning proposition is to do what King did and that is to show up, protest, and never raise a finger in violence. It would not take very long for the public to tire of seeing the Left pushing violence upon those who were peaceful and their absurd claims such as hate speech and free speech which justifies their violence against free speech would become meaningless.
>
This is a political battle and to win it you need to win the hearts and minds of the public. By not being violent and having violence thrust upon you time and again, the public will turn towards your position and the Left will lose the battle. It is really the only strategy that has a chance of succeeding in today’s absurd microaggression world.

That might be a ‘winning’ proposition if the MSM were sympathetic with non-lefty martyrs. They are not, and you’ll run up a lot of medical bills. Videographic records would be your best hope, and from what’s turning up so far from within the turmoil, they’re no good as evidence – they don’t pick a thug, freeze him, frame him and record all his aggressions. Organizers should pick better tactical positions, and include video in the planning.

Mannie in reply to Cleetus. | March 6, 2017 at 9:08 am

If we give them a monopoly on violence, they will drive us from the field. If we martyr ourselves, the Enemy Press will ignore us.

King had the press and the great Left Wing propaganda machine on his side. We will never have that luxury.

What is the point of even having a rally like this? Trump already won, so he doesn’t any of this, if that’s what it’s for. If it’s for anti-violence — good luck with that! All it does is give the Anti-Fa fascists an excuse to physically attack people.
