Bid Notice: Trump’s Mexican wall to be 30-feet tall and look good from north

AP reports on contract proposal solicitations.

Things are moving fast on the Mexican border.

Or at least, the planning is moving fast.

According to AP, contract proposal solicitations specify a 30-foot wall that is hard to cut through and only looks good from the north side:

The Trump administration wants to build a 30-foot-high border wall that looks good from the north side and is difficult to climb or cut through, according to a pair of contract notices posted to a government website further detailing President Donald Trump’s promise to build a “big, beautiful wall” at the Mexican border.

The notices were made public late Friday by Customs and Border Protection, the Homeland Security Department agency that will oversee the project and eventually patrol and maintain the wall. The proposals are due to the government by March 29.

One of the CBP contract requests calls for a solid concrete wall, while the other asks for proposals for a see-through structure. Both require the wall to sunk at least six feet into the ground and include 25- and 50-foot automated gates for pedestrians and vehicles. The proposed wall must also be built in a such a way that it would take at least an hour to cut through it with a “sledgehammer, car jack, pick axe, chisel, battery operated impact tools, battery operated cutting tools, Oxy/acetylene torch or other similar hand-held tools.”

AP continued that it is not clear how much of the border would involve such a wall.

The Trump administration wants to build a 30-foot-high border wall that looks good from the north side…

At least until the taggers get thru with it.

How can this possibly be. Didn’t Rags and the never Trump brigade assure us that Trump would never build the Trump wall. They couldn’t have been wrong could they? What else were/are they wrong about?

I don’t know about them, but I’ve written 1000s of posts about the wider issue at my site, at Malkin’s old immig. blog, and at other sites since 2002. I accurately predicted how Trump’s travel bans would fail, right after he announced it (in Dec 2015).

The Wall has very little chance of being built. Yes, Trump might add some fencing in new places, but a concrete wall all along the border? Not a chance. Even if it is built, the next D pres will tear it down.

Those who count on the Wall are endangering the U.S. and in effect *helping* the pro-amnesty side.

What’s needed is a “smart wall”: making enabling illegal immig. politically toxic. That would greatly reduce illegal immig., but Trump fans are only interested in bright, flashy plans that won’t actually solve the problem.

LOL. You have correctly predicted nothing and you understand nothing about Trump or his supporters.

“GaryBritt”: I appreciate you demonstrating yet again that most Trump supporters have no integrity.

However, a glance at my extensive Trump coverage and hundreds of tweets about it will show that I not only accurately predicted how Trump’s travel bans would fail, but I did it starting in 2015.

If people like you were smart, sane, and had integrity, you would have demanded that Trump come up with smarter plans. Instead, people like you enabled Trump and thus played a role in him suffering big losses as judges blocked his bans. And, as – as he himself admitted! – his actions made the USA less safe.

People like you not only harm Trump, you help him harm the USA.

that looks good from the north side

That’s a nice touch.
