Is Jerry Brown now President of California?

If California’s general election votes were ignored, President-Elect Donald Trump would have won the popular vote as well as the Electoral College count.

Perhaps inspired by the “different direction” taken by its citizens, California Governor Jerry Brown feels inspired to conclude his political career by taking the role of President, an office for which he campaigned several times during his lengthy career? This would align with development of the the California secession movement.

For example, I reported that Trump apparently plans to eliminate all climate change research conducted by the National Aeronautics and Space Administration (NASA) as part of his fight against climate alarmist policies.

The proposal launched an epic rant from Brown during a meeting with scientists focused on climate change, which included an homage to his nickname….Governor Moonbeam. He even threatened to launch California-funded satellites!

“We’ve got the scientists, we’ve got the lawyers and we’re ready to fight. We’re ready to defend,” he said to boisterous applause at the American Geophysical Union conference in San Francisco…..He reminded the scientists that he earned his nickname, Governor Moonbeam, in his first governorship for proposing that the state launch its own communications satellite, and even had an ex-astronaut on his payroll as a space adviser. “I didn’t get that moniker for nothing,” Brown said.“And, if Trump turns off the satellites, California will launch its own damn satellite,” he added. “We’re going to collect that data.”He said if the federal government “starts messing with” the state’s renowned science facilities, such as Lawrence Livermore National Laboratory, “I am the president of the Board of Regents. I am going to say, ‘Keep your hands off. That laboratory is going to pursue good science.’ ”

What’s old is new again! Brown’s 1980 presidential platform was: Protect the Earth, serve the people, explore the universe.

Brown isn’t stopping at satellite launches, either. With the nominations of Rick Perry at the Department of Energy and Scott Pruitt at the Environmental Protection Agency, Trump has sent a clear signal that fossil fuels are a safe and profitable fuel source that should be utilized by this nation.

In response, California reporter Katy Grimes reports that Brown just demanded that President Barack Obama to permanently ban new offshore oil and gas drilling.

…In an attempt to lock in environmental protections before President-Elect Donald Trump takes office in January, Brown sent a letter this week to the president saying that allowing any new oil and gas drilling would be detrimental to climate change goals and reducing reliance on fossil fuels.President Barack Obama last month released a plan to ban any new drilling off the coasts of California, Oregon or Washington until 2022.A six-year ban on oil and gas drilling wasn’t enough for California Gov. Jerry Brown, who will be gone from the Governor’s office in 2018.

For the sake of the prosperity of this state and the quality of life for Californians, let’s hope these efforts end in complete failure.
