Reports: Clinton Foundation under “very high priority” FBI pay-for-play investigation
The Clinton Foundation is the belly of the beast.
It’s hard to rank Clinton scandals.
Hillary’s email scandal has been the focus for good reason — it’s been more accessible because the records at issue were public records even if hidden and destroyed by Hillary in good measure.
The Washington Post reports tonight that the Huma-Weiner computer issue that led to FBI Director Comey’s letter to Congress was discovered in early October. The sequence of events leading to Comey’s letter was not as quick or haphazard as reported, but fairly methodical to the point that Comey felt word would leak out because prosecutors needed a search warrant:
Senior FBI officials were informed about the discovery of new emails potentially relevant to the investigation of Hillary Clinton’s private email server at least two weeks before Director James B. Comey notified Congress, according to federal officials familiar with the investigation.
The officials said that Comey was told that there were new emails before he received a formal briefing last Thursday, although the precise timing is unclear….
A formal briefing for Comey with the investigative team was held Oct. 27 at FBI headquarters. At that point, Comey was given a complete presentation of everything the team knew about the trove….
But Comey and others felt there was enough information at that point to pursue a warrant, which would permit the investigators on the Clinton case to read the emails, officials said. They could not read them without legal permission because the emails had been discovered in the separate criminal probe involving Weiner.
When Comey and the officials decided to seek a warrant, they knew that would involve more people, both at the FBI and the Justice Department. Comey was concerned that the explosive information that they had to renew the Clinton investigation would leak out.
“It could not be done in secret,” an official with knowledge of the investigation said. “It’s a volatile subject and a major topic in the presidential campaign.”
But the overriding factor in Comey’s decision was that he felt he had to tell Congress what he was doing because he had testified under oath this past summer and “told Congress and the world” that the Clinton email investigation was complete, and now that was no longer true, an official said.
At the same time this more Comey-friendly narrative is being pursued by WaPo, there is explosive reporting from Brett Baier on the investigation of the Clinton Foundation:
The FBI’s investigation into the Clinton Foundation that has been going on for more than a year has now taken a “very high priority,” separate sources with intimate knowledge of the probe tell Fox News.
FBI agents have interviewed and re-interviewed multiple people on the foundation case, which is looking into possible pay for play interaction between then-Secretary of State Hillary Clinton and the Clinton Foundation. The FBI’s White Collar Crime Division is handling the investigation.
Even before the WikiLeaks dumps of alleged emails linked to the Clinton campaign, FBI agents had collected a great deal of evidence, law enforcement sources tell Fox News.
“There is an avalanche of new information coming in every day,” one source told Fox News, who added some of the new information is coming from the WikiLeaks documents and new emails.
FBI agents are “actively and aggressively pursuing this case,” and will be going back and interviewing the same people again, some for the third time, sources said.
Agents are also going through what Clinton and top aides have said in previous interviews and the FBI 302, documents agents use to report interviews they conduct, to make sure notes line up, according to sources.
I said sources described an "avalanche of evidence" in case & barring obstruction they'd likely continue 2 push to try for an indictment" https://t.co/2TjzxdJod1

Andy McCarthy explains how the email and Clinton Foundation investigations are related, The Clinton E-mails Are Critical to the Clinton Foundation Investigation:
Now, however, let’s consider the Clinton Foundation. While Clinton may not have been motivated to harm our national security, she was precisely motivated to conceal the corrupt interplay of the State Department and the Clinton Foundation. That was the real objective of the home-brew server system: Mrs. Clinton wanted to shield from Congress, the courts, and the public the degree to which she, Bill, and their confederates were cashing in on her awesome political influence as secretary of state. That is exactly why she did business outside the government system that captures all official e-mails; and, critically, it perfectly explains why she deleted and attempted to destroy 33,000 e-mails — risibly claiming they involved yoga routines, Chelsea’s wedding, and the like.
The Clinton Foundation pay-for-play explains why the desire to hide records of what Hillary was doing as Secretary of State. It’s all interconnected.

She’s going to jail.
They are going to need a bus to load up all those connected with the Clinton Foundation and carry them off to Club Fed.
Naw, she’ll claim she’s “too sick to jail”.
Out next year on Netflix: Orange Is The New Hillary
There’s no surprise at the depth of the Clintons’ corruption. The fact that almost half of the population and 99% of the MSM are okay with that is cause for concern. Where is their line between corrupt and honorable? That the Clintons haven’t crossed it yet is telling.
It never could have been done without enablers in the MSM. All those ‘journalists’ that were going to the Clinton Foundation retreats are just as guilty.
If Hillary wins the election but her legal future looks dark, will Obama pardon her as his last f/u to the American public?
I don’t understand why there is not a consensus that Hillary’s various scandals are logarithmically greater than Watergate, as important as Watergate was, and I remember it well.
I dunno, Richard Nixon in retrospect looks quaint and honorable. He, after all, had the grace to be ashamed of his bad acts, and feel the pressure to resign in disgrace. Not so, Bill or Hillary.
What would Obama pardon her for?
What did Jerry Ford pardon Nixon for? He wasn’t indicted or convicted of anything.
There is no limit on Presidential pardon power. This means, if she is elected she has the authority to pardon herself.
It sounds ridiculous but think of what she has been doing for the last umpteen years to get where she is now.
If she’s elected, she won’t need to pardon herself. She will simply order the DOJ and FBI to drop their investigations. She will also stop the investigation being done by the U.S. Attorney’s office in NY. All of those people will be her subordinates if she becomes president.
One of many reasons why she should never become president.
Do you get the idea that these elite people are not so good with computers?
This is going to get very ugly very fast. The best thing that could happen is that the Hildabeast get out now and just report to the nearest Club Fed and get outfitted with an orange striped pantsuit.
“The Clinton Foundation is the belly of the beast.”
No. She’s corrupt, but she’s no Hitler.
Apparently at least eight people believe Clinton is worse than Hitler… Don’t blame me for anything.
Hillary is worse. Hitler is safely dead and can’t continue his career of destruction and corruption. Hillary, on the other hand …
“Apparently at least eight people believe Clinton is worse than Hitler”
Her supporters are just as bad
My down vote was because I searched for “in the belly of the beast” and came up with a movie based on a book by a man who’d been in American prisons. I doubt very much that Prof. Jacobson meant any reference to Hitler in the post subtitle, and your inserting Hitler into this was out of line.
It’s not just interconnected; it’s outright intersectionality.
This just in: Yes, her server was hacked, they think by 5 foreign governments.

“Headed for a likely indictment.

Already?
FBI doesn’t indice people, DOJ does.
She’s going to jail.
If a Grand Jury was impaneled, they could issue an indictment. If they’re talking this way, maybe there is a GJ?
The question seems to me to be how far will Obama and Lynch go to protect her. When, if ever, will they see their own futures and legacies forever tarnished because they chose to get into bed with the Clintons.
That doesn’t mean it is Hillary who will be indicted. They have a long history of throwing associates under the proverbial bus.
It’s the type of incestuous relationship that always to seem to exist at some level in politics. The last time it was this blatant was probably in the Boss Tweed era of Tammany Hall. Tammany’s excesses shocked even jaded New Yorkers. He was convicted and died in jail, so there is hope.
Time to flush this foul toilet and The Donald has always reminded me of a toilet plunger.
Given all of the CLEAR evidence of “pay-to-play” involving the Clintons and their Foundation, why in the world has it taken more than one week, let alone MORE THAN A YEAR, for the FBI to “investigate” this and come to a conclusion?
There seem to be many optimists posting here. The DOJ isn’t going to indict anyone, let alone Clinton. Aren’t you listening?
The vote is too close for Trump to win; Clinton controls the early voting, vote counting and late voting (How many more ballots do we need to find in some closet?).
So Clinton is going to win the election, she is going to be sworn into office, she is going to control the DOJ, the IRS, the FBI, the EPA, the BATF, the FEC, the FCC and so on and so forth.
We will finally have the government we deserve.
HANG THE HAG!!!
I’m suspicious …
It looks from all this as if damn near everyone in the Administration, the State Dept, and the Judicial Dept have been replaced with alien pod people who are just pretending to be Americans.
In contrast, the FBI seems to have only a few alien pod people; the rest are trying to defeat these alien invaders (though so far only by legal means, which is a serious limitation).
The obvious question is, why did the alien pods do such a superficial job infiltrating the FBI, when they seem to have Assimilated so much else?
This would explain why so many FBI agents wear sunglasses. THEY LIVE!
I wonder if the Wikileaks team will form their own political party.
They fight. They even (gasp!) hack computers to get to the truth.
Whereras my old party, the GOP, was resigned to just roll over and let Hillary Clinton abuse us for another 8 years.
Where has the GOP been these days anyway? Busily consulting their own IT guys and buying BleachBit by the truckload no doubt.
I wonder how many in the media knew about the investigations at the foundation but kept quiet and instead spent days focusing on important things like how Trump called Miss Universe fat 20 years ago because Miss Universe was fat 20 years ago?
Trump needs to get extra secret service protection. The Clintons have a lot to lose if she doesn’t win the election. In corrupt systems the easiest way to win is to eliminate the opposition.
Yesterday was the last day to request an absentee ballot. I just checked the state election board website and verified that no absentee ballot has been sent, which is good. Luckily, to return the ballot requires a bit of work, specifically, getting one of the envelopes notarized, which requires photo id.
So, check your state board election website to see what information they have on you, as well as check the rules. My state does not allow write in candidates, but I’m not sure if a write-in vote would invalidate the entire ballot since it is a paper ballot with optical scanning. But some states may invalidate the entire ballot.
