President-Elect Trump’s Thanksgiving Message to the Nation

President-Elect Donald Trump released a video message for Thanksgiving, vowing to heal the wounds of the campaign and for the nation to come together:

TRANSCRIPT:

We are very blessed to call this nation our home. And that is what America is: it is our home. It’s where we raise our families, care for our loved ones, look out for our neighbors, and live out our dreams.

It is my prayer, that on this Thanksgiving, we begin to heal our divisions and move forward as one country, strengthened by a shared purpose and very, very common resolve.

In declaring this national holiday, President Lincoln called upon Americans to speak with “one voice and one heart.” That’s just what we have to do.

We have just finished a long and bruising political campaign. Emotions are raw and tensions just don’t heal overnight. It doesn’t go quickly, unfortunately, but we have before us the chance now to make history together to bring real change to Washington, real safety to our cities, and real prosperity to our communities, including our inner cities. So important to me, and so important to our country. But to succeed, we must enlist the effort of our entire nation.

This historic political campaign is now over. Now begins a great national campaign to rebuild our country and to restore the full promise of America for all of our people.

I am asking you to join me in this effort. It is time to restore the bonds of trust between citizens. Because when America is unified, there is nothing beyond our reach, and I mean absolutely nothing.

Let us give thanks for all that we have, and let us boldly face the exciting new frontiers that lie ahead.

Thank you. God Bless You and God Bless America.

Well, let’s look at how Blondie is doing so far, and he’s not even in office yet: 1) Wall? Well, gee, hmmm, maybe, I’m not so sure, yada yada; 2) and he’ll allow Haglery to heal – sounds like an SJW to me; 3) what d’ya mean those distributions of $ to folks were illegal?; 4) yeah…… we get to keep Common Core Hoooo f’g ahhhh; 5) ahhhh, and he’s reported to be rethinking the issue of climate change????????????. Our esteemed LI colleague, Ragspierre, with whom I’ve disagreed before, I can tell ya what, Rags had it right and has it right now. Trump-pecker is a bullshitting, conartist, and he fits right in with the rest of the mutiibillionaires.. I cannot wait to see what this elected turkey does when he’s in office. ???????????? I wait with baited breath to see what happens when he is offiically ensconced, espeically with respect to USSC and the 2A. Meanwhile, I know lots of folks who are still “stocking up” as it were ????????????????????

Nope, sober as the proverbial church mouse….. just summarizing what he’s done so far. And I appreciate the down-dinging…. provides me with a clear index of the Trumpee fan boys and girls and mixed genders, or whatever the hell they are these days…. So, please down-ding me….????????????

Not even particularly good or creative trolling. Rather boring trolling. Nonetheless, have a happy thanksgiving with your compatriots under the bridge waiting for the billy goats gruff.

That’s not why I thumbed down. I did it because you have no idea what is happening and won’t for several months. Wasn’t a Trump supporter but geesh, give it a rest!

Problem is, nothing in your “summary” is true.

Just the same juvenile lying, wailing and whining of the liberal media that got their butts handed to them on a YUGE gold platter with the Trump logo on it.

Happy Thanksgiving to one and all.

This is my favorite holiday, and the one that SHOULD be all about reflection and gratitude. Both of those are excellent impulses.

    And to you and yours.

During my first tour in the Navy my squadron used to pick on us single guys to stand duty on the holidays. I got used to working on Thanksgiving. Then, I found I preferred it that way.

It turns out I was spending my holiday with the family. I shared a stateroom with the Food Services Officer on the Carl Vinson. He was the finest officer I ever served with. If someone had a problem child, he’d say, “Give him to me.” Next thing you know that problem child is Sailor of the Month.

Sunday brunch when he was in charge was out of this world.

But in my experience he wasn’t too far out of the ordinary. What I knew as Mess Management Specialists but transformed into Culinary Specialists toward the end of my career (I never got used to that) really did care about what they did.

I won’t brag on all the outstanding meals I ate while I was in the Navy. Every day is a holiday and every meal is a feast when you’re in the Navy.

I will just say Happy Thanksgiving to all. Especially to the Troops. And most especially to all the cooks in all the services working their @$$es off today.

Drilling rigs don’t savvy no holiday. You can’t shut one down when you’re on a hole, so I got to “enjoy” Thanksgiving and Christmas and every other holiday at work.

Of course, that’s not unique to the oil field. There will be thousands of first responders, technical pros, etc, and more etc. serving us all today and on Christmas Day.

They are some of the people I give thanks for on Thanksgiving, along with all others who serve our nation.

Back in the day we used to have a big massive mess hall and one holidays there were only 40 odd troopies left in camp so when my mate and I went to set the tables for dinner…being the mischief buggers we were…we set the four corner tables in the mess hall.

End result was tables with about 300 foot of space between em and an annoyed mess sergeant.

Oh the fun we used to have as care free troopies without a worry in the world! 🙂

Like I said, I never got used to the fact Mess Management Specialists renamed themselves Culinary Specialists. I think that was 2004. Shortly thereafter the Navy killed off the F-14.

        That…
        sucked.

        But rejoice.

Who gives a thumbs down to someone paying tribute to Navy cooks?

The Clinton “response” was hilarious!

A fine message by President-Elect Donald Trump, one of renewal and uplifting our country as opposed to diminishing the land he rightly calls home. Something to include in our list of blessings this day.

May you and yours have a Blessed Thanksgiving.
