Of note is that “President-Elect Donald Trump called Miami-Dade’s Mayor [Carlos Gimenez] Saturday to express his ‘solidarity’ with the Cuban-American community in the wake of Fidel Castro’s death.”
Gimenez spokesman Michael Hernández confirmed the call and said, “The President-elect expressed his support for and solidarity with the Cuban-American community.”
It’s also of note that Gimenez is a Republican who supported Hillary.
