Three Injured at South Carolina Elementary School

DEVELOPING: Officials have reported three injuries, two children and one teacher, at Townville Elementary School in Townville, SC, on Wednesday afternoon.

Fox News reports:

The Greenville News reported that two children were injured and a man was found dead near the school. A suspect is reportedly in custody.Lt. Sheila Cole with the Anderson County Sheriff’s Office said deputies had received reports of a possible shooting but she could confirm that a shooting had occurred, the station reported.Police units from multiple law enforcement agencies were on their way to the scene.

Anderson County Emergency Management spokeswoman Sandy Dees said a helicopter brought one child to the Greenville Health System emergency trauma center. A teacher also remains in the hospital.

The police do have the suspect, a teenager, in custody.

The local coroner told NBC affiliate WYFF that a death reported on a nearby road was related to the incident, but it was not clear how.The shooting took place at Townville Elementary School just after 1 p.m. ET, officials told WYFF.Armed officers were seen at the school, and were reportedly escorting children via bus from the school to a nearby church.
