Hillary, Trump Debate Sets Viewing Record

Hillary, Trump Debate Sets Viewing Record

Higher ratings than Monday Night Football.

Hillary Clinton and Donald Trump enjoyed over 80 million viewers last night during their first presidential debate. The Hill reported:

The previous record was the only debate between Republican Ronald Reagan and President Jimmy Carter in 1980, which drew 80 million in an era with far few channels and no internet. In 2012, the first debate between President Obama and Mitt Romney in 2012 drew 67 million viewers.

The 80 million number doesn’t include numerous streaming options made available.

Analysts thought at least 100 million people would watch the debate. That could be the correct number since this stat doesn’t include online streaming.

The Super Bowl this year had 100 million viewers, but this debate did beat out Monday Night Football between the Atlanta Falcons and the New Orleans Saints. Usually Monday Night Football dominates Monday ratings.

Did you watch? I watched my Chicago Cubs win their 100th game!

I would assume they would beat out Monday Night Football.

Selling advertisement is always the main goal in these “debates”.
