Best of (Future SCOTUS?) Justice Don Willett’s Twitter Feed
Can you know a man by his tweets?
Presumptive Republican presidential nominee, Donald Trump, released a short-list of potential SCOTUS nominees Wednesday.
Senate Republicans have thus far, made good on their promise to block President Obama’s nomination of Judge Merrick Garland. Should that hold, the task of replacing the late Justice Scalia will fall to the next Oval Office occupant.
According to ABC News, Trump’s SCOTUS list includes:
The list of conservative federal and state judges includes Steven Colloton of Iowa, Allison Eid of Colorado and Raymond Gruender of Missouri.
Also on the list are: Thomas Hardiman of Pennsylvania, Raymond Kethledge of Michigan, Joan Larsen of Michigan, Thomas Lee of Utah, William Pryor of Alabama, David Stras of Minnesota, Diane Sykes of Wisconsin and Don Willett of Texas. Trump had previously named Pryor and Sykes as examples of kind of justices he would choose.
The news comes as Trump is working to bring together a fractured Republican Party and earn the trust of still-skeptical establishment Republicans who question his electability in the general election, as well as conservatives in his party still wary of his commitment to their cause.
In a statement, Trump said the list “is representative of the kind of constitutional principles I value” and said that, as president, he would use it “as a guide to nominate our next United States Supreme Court Justices.”
His campaign stressed the list was compiled “first and foremost, based on constitutional principles, with input from highly respected conservatives and Republican Party leadership.”
Trump’s list is similar to one published by the Heritage Foundation in March.
But many a conservative, including John Yoo at National Review, are swooning over Trump’s SCOTUS picks.
Among the would-be nominees is a hometown favorite of mine (and many of ours) — Texas Supreme Court Justice Don Willett. Justice Willett is a stand-up judge, conservative to the core, down-to-Earth, and one of the best follows on social media.
His feeds are chock full of hilarity, America (and Texas)-loving content, but we’ve endeavored to bring you a recent sampling of some of his best:

Excellent!
The list is solid.
Diane Sikes is the wife of prominent #nevertrumper Charlie Sykes. Lee is the brother of Sen Mike Lee who withheld support.
So it’s definately not a list of payback rewards to his supporters
You write as if you believe Trump. I wish I could.
With Trump’s history of attacking those who attack him, and the family of those that attack him, are we simply to assume that regarding appointments to the Supreme Court Trump will act as a statesman and that his list is anything other than a suggestion?
See, e.g., http://www.breitbart.com/2016-presidential-race/2016/05/18/never-trump-radio-host-dont-believe-trump-really-wants-wife-supreme-court/
It’s a con job. The hump’s entire candidacy has turned into what’s called a long con. The first target is the ‘pub party; the second target is the American people.
http://leverage.wikia.com/wiki/The_Long_Con
The hump has signed two “contracts” with the ‘pub party to mutually raise money to be shared between the hump and the RNC for down-ticket races. So the ‘pubs took the bait.
Anybody who thinks the hump would nominate Sykes or Lee is just another blind, gullible fool.
How much is Hillary paying you to slander people who can’t answer your accusations? $5, or do you prostitute yourself for the joy of giving….?
The going rate is a bit less.

Dianne Sykes is his ex-wife. From what I heard the divorce was not amicable.
About two weeks ago he tweeted a photo of himself sitting in front of a taco with the caption “I love Hispanics!” on Cinco de Mayo.
Why would putting somebody on some sort of list be considered payback?
And by the way, Trump already said that this is the first rough draft, and that the list will be expanded.
That Trump, having already effectively clinched the nomination, still feels the need to pander to conservatives tells you something about the strength of his candidacy.
He had me at ‘God Got Game.’
Do NOT watch “we had a good run”. Once seen, it can’t be unseen.
You’re right, “Open Carry night” is pretty funny.

In news today.
1. Trump takes over yet another week of the news cycle.
2. Trump gets large portion of America to think of him not as candidate, but as POTUS picking SCOTUS.
Not only that…
Hillary surrogate, former Gov Rendell says most American women are ugly (thus won’t vote for Trump).
The hump said the list is a “guide”. It don’t mean squat.
There you go again, you yappy little mutt, self-identifying your bathroom practices – “squat”. Speaking of which, did you know that in as per the Muslim holy books people don’t use TP when they “squat”? Nope, they use their left hand. Neat, huh? Traditions, aren’t they wonderful? Just what the Republican party needs, another traditional elitist RINO assuming the throne. gag.
I’m thankful Trump doesn’t follow in the footsteps of Romney or Bush, this allows the entire American public to get a good laugh when Hillary and Barack take up residence in a prison of OUR choice…one loaded with lying perverts cross dressing for “date night” in the shower.
You missed his best tweets (mocking Trump): http://www.redstate.com/absentee/2016/05/19/judge-donalds-supreme-court-listicle-mocks-darth-trump-mercilessly-twitter/
Another RedState item. This one’s a Rorscach test.
Is it merciless mockery? Or, is it ironic support? Definitely intended as anti, but like so many attacks it may have gone awry.

Amazing.
“Open Carry Night”. Heh. I like this guy.
Even though his tweets are fun, Justice Willett should stop that immediately. That is not appropriate for a judge. It figures that the author would like something this idiotic.
It would be nice if we could actually believe him (Trump).
However, the list will be useful for the next Republican to get into the White House. (Sadly, none are running this year.)
Trump says that his picks/suggestions are “representative of the kind of constitutional principles I value” … I value ALL constitutional principles, not just some.
