Charlie Daniels has a message for the Ayatollahs
Obama and his “weak-kneed Ivy League friends” are not America.
The latest in the NRA’s Freedom’s Safest Place video series features Charlie Daniels, who starts out with a provocative statement:
“You might have met our fresh-faced flower-child president, and his weak-kneed Ivy League friends.”
Good thing he limited “weak-kneed Ivy League” to “friends” of Obama. Otherwise I’d take great offense.
Here is the full text:
To the ayatollahs of Iran and every terrorist you enable: Listen up.
You might have met our fresh-faced flower child president and his weak-kneed, Ivy League friends.
But you haven’t met America.
You haven’t met the heartland, or the people who will defend this nation with their bloody, calloused, bare hands, if that’s what it takes. You haven’t met the steelworkers and the hard-rock miners, or the swamp folks in Cajun country who can wrestle a full-grown gator out of the water.
You haven’t met the farmers, the cowboys, the loggers and the truck drivers. You don’t know the mountain men who live off the land, or the brave cops who fight the good fight in the urban war zones.
No, you’ve never met America. And you oughta pray you never do.

I hate to tell you Mr. Daniels, our elite leaders in their ivy league towers of power will never let down their hair long enough to let our reason and common sense climb in. But, I like where you stand.
I’m proud to say I’ve been a Chuck Daniels fan since well before “The Devil Went Down to Georgia.” He’s done us proud again.
I go back to “Uneasy Rider”–you don’t hear that much any more!

As a fellow “Long-Haired Country Boy”, we know how to raise our own due to the fact that county deputies are well over 30 minutes away.
FWIW, the Americans Charlie Daniels describes seem to me also to be in the large numbers of voters supporting Trump’s candidacy.

Maybe we should instead be focusing on the fact that the left is coming for every single Constitutional right we have. And they’re letting their freedom-hating friends around the world come for us to. Free speech, religious liberty, right to assemble, 2d Amendment, states vs federal rights. They want to take it all. We have a common enemy. Instead of bashing Cruz or bashing Trump, we need to remember who the real enemy is (hint: she looks good in orange). Politics aside, Charlie Daniels and the NRA are dead on.
Our rights aren’t merely “constitutional”, they’re inherent, innate, God-given rights; the left is also trying to establish “rights” where none exist, like right to Internet, right to safe spaces and to be free of microagressions, etc. Also, they’re trying to eliminate our belief in God, with the end goal being that there’s no such thing as God-given rights if there is no God. And when they do away with that, the Declaration of Independence and the Constitution/Bill of Rights are at risk because they are based on a belief in God.
That said, we have TWO battles ahead of us: strengthen our belief in God (First Amendment), and strengthen our resolve and our ability to resist tyranny (Second Amendment); lose those, and the others fall like dominoes. Support all Christian churches–it not about theology–as well as the NRA, GOA, SAF, CCRKBA, and the myriad state-level gun-rights organizations.
