In the wake of the Cologne mass sexual attacks and her failed attempts to disassociate the Middle Eastern refugee influx from the crimes they commit, Angela Merkel is trying a new tactic.
Having “lost” 600,000 refugees, Merkel is now trying to placate the German people with the idea that these refugees will all “go home” once the civil wars in Syria and Iraq are resolved.
German Chancellor Angela Merkel tried on Saturday to placate the increasingly vocal critics of her open-door policy for refugees by insisting that most refugees from Syria and Iraq would go home once the conflicts there had ended.. . . . Merkel said it was important to stress that most refugees had only been allowed to stay for a limited period.“We need … to say to people that this is a temporary residential status and we expect that, once there is peace in Syria again, once IS has been defeated in Iraq, that you go back to your home country with the knowledge that you have gained,” she told a regional meeting of her Christian Democratic Union (CDU) in the state of Mecklenburg-Western Pomerania.
Sure, they’ll all self-deport once someone (she doesn’t say who, but we know it won’t be Germany) defeats ISIS.

What this also doesn’t take into account, of course, is that many of the refugees entering Europe aren’t even from Syria or Iraq but are from Afghanistan and other Middle Eastern countries, and they aren’t fleeing war but are instead leaving their homelands for “economic” reasons.
We understand, of course, that the influx of young Muslim males into Europe is no accident.
Color me skeptical, but this sounds like a cynical political ploy to soothe the irate masses rather than anything she actually believes . . . or intends to enforce. Ever.
Instead, she is suggesting to the German people that the mass sexual assaults and increasing crime rates are just temporary . . . so they should just deal with it.
It remains to be seen whether or not the German people buy this latest insult to their logic and reason.
