Jeremy Corbyn Elected Leader – British Labour really is “Lunatic Left”

As expected, Jeremy Corbyn was just elected Leader of the British Labour Party.

To describe him as “far left” would be unfair … to the far left. He’s basically an economic and political lunatic.

Even The NY Times described Corbyn in stark terms, With Jeremy Corbyn Elected as New Leader, Britain’s Labour Party Takes a Hard Left Turn:

Britain’s opposition Labour Party on Saturday took a remarkable leftward turn, electing as its leader Jeremy Corbyn, a longtime socialist committed to nationalizing key industries, scrapping Britain’s nuclear missile system and reversing the centrist policies of previous leaders such as Tony Blair. The result of the contest, announced on Saturday morning in London, gave stewardship of the Labour party to the hard left for the first time in more than three decades, a development seen here as one of the most surprising upsets in modern British politics.

This neat video from Sky News lists Corbyn’s economic goals:

Politically, Corbyn comes from the vicious strain of left-wing European politics that views surrender to Islamism as the highest expression of political correctness, and which couches its anti-Semitism in the rhetoric of anti-Zionism and anti-Israelism.

We explored Corbyn’s sick associations in Likely British Labour leader’s creepy associations:

The Daily Mail sums up Corbyn:

Jeremy Corbyn is the most radical Labour leader in the party’s history. The veteran left-winger does not merely advocate a return to 1970s-style socialism, the re-opening of the mines and nationalisation of all public utilities.Mr Corbyn also opposes Nato, Britain’s nuclear deterrent and any controls on immigration. He refused to support the Falklands War, backed the right of Iraqi insurgents to target British troops and, more recently, has defended Vladimir Putin, ISIS and Palestinian terrorists. His views are so hard-line he even split with his second wife because she refused to send her child to the failing local state school in his constituency.Michael Foot, who led the Labour party to its worst post war defeat in 1983, was never so far from public opinion – even supporting Margaret Thatcher’s re-taking of the Falkland Islands in 1982.

There is very good news in this story, nonetheless.

With Corbyn at the lead, Labour almost certainly will get an even more severe drubbing at the polls in 2020 than it did in 2015. Ex-Brit Charles Cooke writes:

Let’s be clear: This is an absolute disaster for progressive politics in Britain. A disaster. In the last forty years, the Labour Party has won only three elections, all of them under the leadership of the moderate Tony Blair. Blair’s key insight into the British public was that it would tolerate a certain amount of government intrusion, but that overtly socialistic parties would be destroyed at the polls — “annihilated” in his memorable words. That having learned this lesson Labour has seen fit to choose a leader who is to the left of Michael Foot defies all belief….How sweetly the Conservative party will sleep tonight.

Please don’t compare Corbyn to Bernie Sanders:
