Reader Poll: George Stephanopoulos apologizes, now what?

ABC News standing by their man, so far.

George Stephanopoulos issued a formal apology for not disclosing his $75,000 in contributions to the Clinton Foundation.

He calls the contributions a mistake, in hindsight.

ABC News appears to be standing by their man, but what should become of him?

Poll Open until Midnight (Eastern) on May 16, 2015.

Now What? They are Democrats. All is forgiven. Stephanopoulos goes on to ask gotcha questions of Republican candidates and moderate debates.

We really need to start saying to this to these people — “Check your Democratic privilege!”

We also need to call it a “Corrupt Culture” that rapes all Americans.

He should be fired, but will not be, by Always Backing Clintons.

Legalize polyandry and force him to marry Hillary.

With props to “Men In Black”…

To keep GS as if he’d merely forgot to pay a ticket is another admission by the MSM that they are no longer news outlets, but active Democrat media operations. I can’t believe anyone in the GOP would go on their shows or allow them to moderate debates.

Estragon in reply to Henry Hawkins. | May 15, 2015 at 6:36 pm

The solution is NO “moderators” or “panelists,” just a timekeeper to keep it even. The candidates are the ones running, let them talk about the issues they find important and ask their own questions of opponents.

Use your time to ask or answer questions or ignore the others, it’s your time. Let the viewers judge for themselves without the grandstanding and angling for the news-making “gotcha” question from journalists.

I think this kind of adebate was tried once.

Anotehre idea, having (undecided) voters ask questions was manipualted by Bill Clinton in 1992 – the mderator selected people and one person asked them not to make negative attacks.

Sammy Finkelman in reply to Estragon. | May 15, 2015 at 7:12 pm

I remember the time George Stephanapolous wore glasses he didn’t need – and I don’t think he has ever admitted he was told to do this by the Clintons.

Wait. Tell me people sit and listen to George Stephanopoulos discuss politics with Martha Raddatz and never noticed any bias? Is this another story about boiling a frog?

Sammy Finkelman | May 15, 2015 at 2:46 pm

I really would go for something between “nothing” and kept off any coverage having to do with Clinton.

It just needs to be generally recognized he is possible Clinton shill in everything, although there may be things he wouldn’t be willing to do. He’s just not neutral.

But that extends beyond direct coverage of the Clinton campaign. There’s not much of a distinction between direct coverage and the Presidential race as a whole. As long as Hillary is in the race, anything having to do with the Presidential election affects her.

Furthermore, he can’t be trusted about any Clinton scandals, and any kind of story that affects them.

And probably the Democratic Party in general as well.

And it is not only his…let’s call it partiality or closeness…toward the Clintons – it’s that the Clintons lie and mislead.

If it was more honest politicians he was close to, it would be a different story.

I can’t vote. My choice isn’t included in the poll.

He should be forced to watch Hillary do nude yoga.

Yes, I support capital punishment.

I support capital punishment, too – but what you suggest comes under “cruel and unusual” punishment.

Stephanopoulos getting in trouble is fantastic as a partisan. As a non partisan, it’s great to see dishonest agenda driven partisans driven out of media.

I don’t comment on here often. I only speak up when I have something notable to say. The more important aspect of this case in my view is.. this is conservative/libertarians on the offense. True Conservatives have been begging and pleading for a party as aggressive and proactive as Progressives have been. It looks like we’re getting what we asked for.

If this is the Kochs playing to win, it’s impressive. Where the Republicans have been playing behind the ball and playing traditional politics, we now have a concerted effort, not to slander opponents or appeal to latest polls, but to erect the entire paradigm this whole election will be played within. If you are a Progressive agent, beware.

St. Georgie The Charitable has wrapped himself in the “cares about the chil-rens flag”.

This is pitiful.

So did St. George The Gotti. He was a BIG benefactor.

Estragon in reply to Ragspierre. | May 15, 2015 at 6:41 pm

The Clinton Foundation gives only 10-15% of their donations to charities, depending on which figuring you believe. They claim they do a lot of charitable work “in house.” I’m afraid to ask what they mean by that.

But Steffi could have surely gotten more bang for his charity buck elsewhere.

Pretty boy St. George was only bene-facting himself, and not in private!

He could always go back to shilling for the Clintoons. Oh wait a minute here; he has been doing that all along, while pretending to be a journalist.

DINORightMarie | May 15, 2015 at 4:48 pm

My option isn’t on the poll, so I had to settle for “fire him.”

Stephie should be fired AND barred – completely – from any news/journalistic outlet related to the 2016 presidential elections. No commentary, at all; a gag-order, if you will, regarding the 2016 elections.

His bias has poisoned enough elections. He is free to work for Hillary in another capacity, but should be barred from the campaign or commenting on the campaign on any news outlet – both on TV and in print.

His opinions are already crystal clear.

(I know; not possible. But that is what I think would be the proper way to handle this man and his poison after getting caught like this.)

Richard Aubrey | May 15, 2015 at 5:52 pm

If it weren’t for this, we wouldn’t have known he was a partisan hack.

inspectorudy | May 15, 2015 at 6:03 pm

So he is a biased clinton shill. What’s your point?

Why have some shill reading the questions off a piece of paper? Just have the questions, pre-approved by each party, appear on a screen. Of course this might put the Dim voters at a severe disadvantage since many of them are illiterate. Check your reading privilege!

Georgie: You, Mr.Pinhead & Clinton Thug, are Human Excrement. Liar. Bimbo Brushfire Dowser. Blathering Propagandist. Twit.

You don’t have “drawn and quartered” as one of the choices…

He apologized, he didn’t mean it. and who cares, anyway?

Time to dump this prick down the same trash heap as Brian Williams.

LukeHandCool | May 16, 2015 at 8:09 pm

Okay, here we go. I think everyone in the world is anticipating a quarterback sneak in this situation.

Quarterback Stephanopoulos practically lying atop his center as he barks out the call.

Both teams are in tight.

Linebacker Washington Free Beacon is up right over the center, glaring into Stephanopoulos’s eyes as the QB calls an audible.

Stephanopoulos takes the snap …

He pivots and throws into the flat …

… and it’s caught by Referee Dylan Byers! Nobody’s gonna touch him … touchdown Byers!!!

Stephanopoulos and Byers chest bump!!
