Louisiana Senate Results: So Long Mary Landrieu
And then there were 9. Congratulations Senator Cassidy.

Another incumbent ousted and another great candidate elected. Congratulations Senator Cassidy.

@ByronYork Neither Louisiana Purchase nor Cornhusker Kickback kept recipient in office. ObamaCare vote too toxic.

Before the polls closed:
Today Louisiana votes for their next senator. Will Landrieu overcome the odds and keep the Republican Senate gains at an even eight? Probably not.
According to polling data posted at Real Clear Politics, Landrieu will likely be giving her concession speech tonight, but as they say, “it’s not over until it’s over”:

Vote early and vote often! Let’s get ur’ done!
The over and under is 30…..
You canNOT call an election 15 minutes into the count, with 0% reporting!
At 45 minutes with a substantial count in, and lopsided, with a concession, ok to call it.
So somewhere between 15 and 45 minutes 🙂
That’s not true. With enough early polling data and exit-polling numbers we’re able to predict the results with near certainty before the voting ends. Not in every election, of course.. but this election was very easy.
Remember McConnell vs Grimes. CNN called it within 1/2 hour IIRC (I think it within 20 minutes).
Now don’t get your hopes up yet.
The absentee and the dead have yet to be counted.
How many graves in Louisiana??
I bet every one is a Democrat.
And don’t forget, the votes from Chicago and its suburbs, including those from the cemeteries, have yet to be counted.
Defending her Obamacare vote, Landrieu once said (paraphrased), “If they don’t like Obamacare they can unelect us!”
Well, OK then!
Poetic justice, isn’t it, that even all the pork from the “Louisiana Purchase” couldn’t save Mary’s bacon.
Mary:’Member Bammycare, Honey Bunny?? Buuu-Byeeeeeee..!
Mary, don’t let the door hit you on the way out…
Congrats, Sen. Cassidy. Now see if you can govern as expected by the voters that sent you there.
Wow, never realized there were so many white racists and misogynists in LA …
Well, you do know that LA Governor Jindal is really a white Indian don’t you? That and Sen. Tim Scott (SC) is really white too. Also, the governor of NM is a white hispanic. You should know this because they all are Republicans. And being Republican automatically means you are a white male and old.
As the song in the immortal movie says….DING DONG
I’m saving that particular song’s refrain for when Nancy Pelosi finally exits the House. I think of her more as the “witch” type than Landrieu. Mary’s exit evokes a bit of Rodgers and Hammerstein for me:
“There’s a sad sort of clanging from the clock in the hall
And the bells in the steeple too.
And up in the nursery an absurd little bird
Is popping up to say, “Cuckoo” (Cuckoo, cuckoo)
Regretfully they tell us but firmly they compel us
To say goodbye to you.
So long, farewell, au wiedersehen, goodbye
Goodbye, goodbye, goodbye.”

THAT one is the BEST…!!!
I am curious to see what impact, if any, the Black Conservative Fund folks had on swaying black voters. They were very active in this race and contacted thousands of black voters. They also released a video showing Dem leaders encouraging voters to vote more than once, and another showing Landrieu’s COS bragging about her 96% support for Obama. If there is a metric that shows an impact of their efforts to sway votes it would be interesting to see.
It was nice to see them celebrating and getting credit. This is how the plantation ends.
Call me negative, but I am only know starting to bank on it.
On to the 2nd Arizona recount.
As of about 10:40pm CST, the vote split is 57% Cassidy, 43% Landrieu. Orleans parish still has a few precincts outstanding. What was interesting is that there are a good number of Orleans Parish precincts in which Cassidy received 0, as in -ZERO- , votes. I find that difficult to believe.
Anyway, no amount of fraud could overcome Cassidy’s lead.
The two GOP pollsters were either way off, or there was a ton of hail mary fraud. But the fact that Rasmussen was pretty close suggests there wasn’t a “ton” of fraud – probably no more than what’s expected from the ‘rats (2-4 % pts.)
Back to the barnyard for Miss Piggy.
Landreau wins – she covers the spread….
Sorry, wrong site……
Farewell, Miss Piggy.
I know it’s wrong, but when I saw the election called, all I could think of was Porky Pig with his famous sign-off:
“Uh, badiabadiaba . . . that’s all folks!”
Hallelujah and pass the Tabasco! I’m having some gumbo today to celebrate.
Mary Landrieu (D) has been repealed!
Didn’t she list her parents house as her Louisiana address? Well, now she can move into their basement. Sweet.
Career over, Mary.
No basement for Mary. She has a nice $2.5 million mansion in DC. She will be a highly paid DC lobbyist by the end of January. The one thing Mary and I have in common? We both used to live in Louisiana.
Oh, no! Now her $$$ life REALLY begins, as she continues in her DC home and cashes in on her lobbying connections.
Hell, Miss Piggy has JUST NOW fully bellied up to the trough…!!!
I wonder. How much influence does she have left after this drubbing?
Cassidy will “reach across the aisle”, and be”bipartisan”. But at least the Landreau dynasty took a hit.
Kermit the frog had no comment.
Louisiana voters have pried that tenacious little pig’s fingers from the trough.
She’ll have her little cries for a week or so, but then she’ll be retired, on the beach and loving it, sipping mint juleps while styling in a hot pink thong bikini.
“styling in a hot pink thong bikini”
Ugh. Need eye/brain bleach now.
C’mon Barry. Corpulent ex-senators need lovin’ too.
