I remember a time in the late 1980s or so when some of the people I was counseling in a treatment center would tell you, “I can’t quit drinking (or using drugs) because I’ll lose my disability check for it.” I cannot now recall if it was a federal or state benefit (NC), but there used to be a check given out for active alcoholism/drug addiction. If you quit, you lost it. So, people would waste their government paid treatment in order to keep their government disability check. Getting paid to get high, money ends if you quit. Thanks, government!

Yay!
This one is fab. I’m reminded of I’pundit’s urbane response to the news that The Public is overwhelmingly against illegal immigration: “Quite odd that the establishment — especially the GOP establishment — seems so uninterested in these sentiments, which you’d think would have considerable electoral salience.”

It seems to be a pattern. Conservatives and the TEA Party give the Republicans a victory, and they promptly kick us in the balls. Time to break the pattern, by not letting them have the victory in the first place. Time for a real SECOND Party now! When you have to defeat the Republicans to get a shot at fighting Democrats, why not just fight them both from the get-go.

It’s why I didn’t vote for any of the bastards.

Boehner TOLD US what he was going to do. He SAID he wanted to pass amnesty. McConnell gave up any power over Obama by pledging they wouldn’t shut down government with spending bills.

And they said all that stuff before the election. Weren’t any of you listening?

After 40 years of watching and listening to the Republicants, I’m fully convinced they’re not there to represent anyone but those interests that put them there and their fellow colleagues the Democrats.

Perfectly stated.

NOW can we get rid of Squeaker Boehner and McTurtle?
