Did Holiday Inn predict Ebola ineptitude… in 2001?

Did Holiday Inn predict Ebola ineptitude… in 2001?

Who knew this hotel chain was prophetic?

God bless the internet and all its wonderful treasures. This 2001 commercial from Holiday Inn Express was frighteningly prophetic. Hilarious, but prophetic. The ad shows a completely inept science team dealing with an Ebola sample, but you can feel safe because they stayed at Holiday Inn Express and are therefore, smart.

Check it out:

It’s a sad day when what was supposed to be ridiculous satire is our living government nightmare.

Now THAT is funny, I don’t care who you are.

Heightening the DARK humor here is that this ad is THIRTEEN YEARS old.

Nobody could have seen this coming, except…

Given what we’ve seen over the past few weeks, having spent the night in a Holiday Inn probably makes a person more qualified to deal with ebola than being an employee of the CDC.

Oh! Wow! Now I understand how the Ebola Czar is qualified for the job!

Reminds me of Tom Lehrer’s observation that every war has some good songs, but if we’re going to have a good song out of WWIII, we’d better start singing now- So Long, Mom (A Song for World War III). Now would be about the right time to enjoy jokes about Ebola, too.

since that ad was made the CDC budget has doubled and they have spent Trillions (yes, with a T)repqring for this.
