On Friday evening, Charles Krauthammer appeared on Special Report with Bret Baier and explained why this is happening.

The United States will “pay a high price” under the Obama administration’s plans to drawdown the army by nearly 70,000 soldiers, and is all part of an effort for the president to fulfill his ideological goals, Charles Krauthammer warned on Friday’s Special Report…“It’s robbing the military to inflate the entitlement state,” said Krauthammer. “Europe had us behind them in the last 50 years when it had no military; there’s nobody to back us up if we strip our military and neuter it as we do now.”
